"I love you, Sena," Kid whispered.

The brunet blushed.

"I..." He looked shyly up at the male, "I... love you too."

Akaba looked away.

"Of course, Sena."

Kid's smile was strained.

Akaba tried not to hear again.

Sena nodded a sad grin on his face as he presented him the white invitation he (and Akaba and Monta and Mizumatchi) had put so much effort into doing.

"What's this?"

Kid sounded amused.

Sena laughed.

Akaba felt better already.

"It's an invitation, silly!" He giggled, "I want you to come."

Akaba tightened his fists and gritted his teeth.

Why couldn't it be him?

"Really?" Kid sounded so happy. "I hope... nothing bad happens to me today, then. Something this good is bound to have something to come back."

"Then, I hope it'll be worth it!"

Akaba relaxed at the voice that squeezed his heart like some doll, but quickly moved out of the way for when he heard Sena gently kiss Kid and...

He sighed.

How pathetic he had become.

Bandou and Deimon weren't too far from each other, and the Poseidons weren't either. (Oujou wasn't either, but right now, Akaba did not want to even think about their linebacker.)

They often (after the initial tournaments) ran into each other before they naturally fell into their daily routine of visiting and talking to one another.

So, they often went out for ice cream (Bando, Deimon, and Kyoshin) and would relax.

Then, Akaba fell further in love, like many others.

He was the fly caught in the web of love-one that he later realized that it wasn't him that was loved back though.

He told himself to get over it, and that his rhythm would fall back into a tempo primo.

Instead, he was stuck at a presto going stringendo with every word, every smile, before crashing down into a grave, and then, was accelerated to Pesante, and the rubato wasn't helping.

But he couldn't help himself. He fell farther and farther, knowing that he's going to hit ground and it wasn't going to be pretty.

So, every time he came close to falling, he turned away.

And for the longest time, it had worked.

In fact, it still worked.

And he hoped that it would stay like that, rather than have him complete break.

Perhaps this was twisted, but Akaba didn't like to lose. And fighting a losing battle isn't exactly a good idea. So he's wait.

Sometimes, though, he wondered if he even had a chance at the beginning.

Akaba continued to smile for Sena. And hoped that the male didn't hear his broken love song for him.
