"Klaus!" Caroline screamed, backing up against the wall as he neared her. "Get it away from me!"
Klaus laughed at her, thrusting his open hand towards her, nearly doubling over in hysterics as she shrieked at the spider in front of her eyes.
"It's a spider, love" he said to her, smiling. "And you're a vampire. Which do you think is most frightening?".
"The spider! Now, piss off!" She cried, running out of his bedroom as he tried to get closer to her.
"Aw, don't leave sweetheart" he called after her with a smile, following her downstairs and into his living room.
"Klaus, no!" Caroline yelled, laughing as he chased her around the sofa, his fist balled up, and the spider contained inside.
"Would you please, stop running around me in circles!?" Elijah spat at them from his seat on the sofa. "I am trying to read, and it is proving rather difficult with you two idiots circling me and screaming likes imbeciles!"
"Klaus, stop it now" Caroline said, narrowing her eyes at him. "You're annoying your brother".
"That's okay, my love", Klaus replied, "I'll just dagger him for a few days and he'll forget all about it".
He continued to chase her around the house, the spider in his hand the whole time. He chased her through the kitchen, the hallway, and then finally back to the living room.
"You're back", Elijah said half-heartedly as he looked up at them once more. "I'm thrilled".
Caroline cowered away from Klaus in the corner of the living room, yelling at him to leave her alone as his open hand held the spider just inches from her face.
Elijah couldn't take their noise anymore, and he threw his book on the seat next to him in agitation. He sped across the room to where Klaus and Caroline stood, grabbed the spider from his brother's hand, and crushed it in his grip.
"Now bugger off back upstairs, and leave me be" he said, calmer now that they had shut up. He took a handkerchief from his top pocket and wiped his hand clean, before returning to his seat and picking up his book.
"Oh, would you look at that?" Klaus said, eyeing something on the floor, his tone and facial expression mischievous. "Another spider".
