The man peeled off a bit of skin from the chicken that lay in front of him. He currently sat in detention, and really shouldn't have been eating, but a certain friend of his had snuck food in. He sucked the grease from his fingers, taping quietly in the desk. Oh, and how the flavor exploded in his mouth! It nearly sent him into a shock. He closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair. The door opened and closed, the sound the footsteps, before the chair in front of him was pulled back. He opened his eyes, and before him was… a man. He had a boyish face, full of hope.

"Hello, my name is Phoenix Wright."

He held out his hand. The man took it, grasping it tightly.

"Nice to meet you Phoenix." He said with a smile

Phoenix looked him up and down. He was wearing a red suit, a pair of black sunglasses that hide his eyes, and had long blond hair. Compared to the other clients he'd had before, this guy was tame. He dug into his pre-briefing files, taking them out. He had to make this guy sign the consent form before he could get any work. He glanced up at the man, who was poking at a massive fried chicken with his hands. He pulled out a file and went over the facts of the case. This red man in front of him currently eating chicken with his hands was the suspect in a case. He stole a gun, escaped, and took a young girl hostage. He frowned. It wasn't a murder case but this could be pretty bad to wiggle out of. He looked up at the man, who was sucking on his fingers.

"Alright, Mr—"

"Yomiel."

Phoenix nodded.

"Mr. Yomiel, I've reviewed your case. You've got one count of hostage holding, one of kidnapping, and two counts of assaulting an officer."

Yomiel just continued to smile a carefree smile. Phoenix continued on, placing the consent document in front of him with a pen.

"If you plead guilty, you'll get 20 years minimum. There's nothing about that I can—"

Yomiel held up a finger, and leaned across the table.

", Why do I need an attorney?"

Phoenix frowned. Oh man, not another one. Yomiel scratched his head with a finger.

", do you want to know a secret?"

Phoenix rolled his eyes internally.

"Sure, tell me."

Yomiel smiled, a sad yet happy smile.

"I used to be a deadman . For ten years, I walked the earth a spirit, unable to feel the warm of the sun, or the chill of the wind. I couldn't even taste. I was a hollowed out shell of a man, simply existing without end."

… he smiled a little, looking down at his interlaced fingers. He lost himself for a moment, smiling like a child, flexing his fingers. Yes, he could have done that before, but now he actually felt the pull of the muscles and the stretch of the skin. Phoenix cleared his throat, and Yomiel looked up.

"I apologize, where was I? Ah yes."

He repositioned his sunglasses.

"As far as I see it, I'm alive. Even if I'm in prison, I'm alive, so I don't really care if I get 20 years."

Phoenix smiled, and placed a few more documents in front of Yomiel. "Mr. Yomiel, do you know why I'm here?" he laced his fingers together, and rested his lips against his fingers. Yomiel put a hand in his palm. "No, perhaps you could enlighten me."

Phoenix smiled. "Well you see.. a woman approached me and asked me to defend you. Said that her fiance had been falsely accused, and asked me to defend him." He dug in his bag for the clincher. "I wasn't planning on taking a case outside of Los Angeles, but this woman was so determined. Aha!" he placed the photograph in front of him. "Said her name was Sissel."

… Yomiel slowly picked up the picture, looking down at the beautiful woman that he hadn't seen for 10 long years. He looked up at Phoenix. "Alright, but on one condition."

Phoenix raised an eyebrow.

"Let me keep this picture."

…. Both men smiled and grasped each others hands. Then, the contract was signed, and the case had begun.
