A/N- I don't know how long this story will be but I just wanted to see how far I can go with this. This is an Alternate reality, so it really isn't canon to the actual storyline. Anyway, enjoy.
"Lucious! Lucious!" Cookie screamed at the top of her lungs as she stomped into her ex-husband's office ready to chew him out. She saw that the back of his chair was facing her.
"Lucious, boy I need to talk to you!"
Lucious didn't flinch; he already knew what he was in store for.
"Yes Cookie, what is it?" He simply muttered not even fazed by her wrath. Though, he still didn't turn his chair around.
"Lucious, you had better put your Halle Berry knock-off looking bitch in her place before I do!" She snapped.
Her ex-husband sighed heavily and twirled his chair around to give her his lazy smirk. He had to admit she looked very lovely today. She usually did but today was a little different. For some reason, he felt that old spark stirring within his chest. This wasn't a good moment to allow his emotions to override the business side of him.
Lucious hurriedly clear his throat and spoke.
"Now what did Anika do to make you so upset?"
This was becoming an everyday thing for him. Every since his ex-wife was released from prison, after serving seventeen of the twenty-five years she was sentenced to, all the dynamics of Empire had went a complete 180. And now keeping those two women from killing each other was a new task the CEO never wanted. Cookie and Anika would go at it with each other from making little snide remarks under their breath to outright spewing obscenities with no shame this was more so evident from Cookie.
The woman crossed her arms threw him a look that lacked amusement.
"Boo Boo Kitty sitting up here, telling me that I can't manage Little Juze because I already have Tiana. She also told me I probably wouldn't do a good job, is this sheltered bitch for real?"
Lucious leaned back in his chair and shook his head.
Little Juze was a thirteen-year-old rapper that hailed from Mount Vernon (New York). He was a very good lyricist for someone so young and his talent had been circulating social media for a year, so of course once Lucious seen the kid's videos, he had to sign the kid and it was a good move since Empire can market Little Juze to a younger audience similar to Lil Bow Wow and Lil Romeo did as youngsters but with more of a mature sound. Granted, his youngest son Hakeem did appeal to the new generation of hip hop fans, it was still good to have younger faces on Empire Entertainment.
The CEO had somewhat of a feeling that his ex was interested in the kid.
"Anika can be a trip sometimes." He giggled much to Cookie's dismay.
"Yet," He continued as he straightened his tie. "What makes you think I'll just hand over the kid like that? Suppose I want to keep him under my wing?"
Cookie simply sucked her teeth.
"Oh really? So he can grow up to be a nasty, disrespectful little bastard?"
She was referring to Hakeem.
"Don't bring him into this." He glared at her.
"Oh don't try it nigga." Cookie put her hand up dismissively. "Any boy that calls their mother a bitch is no son of mine."
"Look, I'm not excusing his behavior towards you but he doesn't know you, that's all. You're still his mother."
"Well, try telling him that." She mumbled.
"Anyway Lucious why can't I be Juze's manager?"
"Sweetheart," He got up from his chair and slowly made his way to her. "You're pushing your luck. You've only been out not even a month and already you're doing a hellava lot."
"That should give you even more of a reason to let the kid be my protégé." Cookie retorted.
"Look, you can do whatever with Jamal he ain't my problem. I also let you have Tiana. As of now, you should focus on those two before you take someone else in."
Cookie was not satisfied at all. She was furious.
"Oh hell naw Lucious, what type of trifling runaround shit is that?! Suddenly, you think I can't manage more than two people?! What kind of fool do you play me for?! I thought this company was something the two of us was suppose to run together. You trying to act like I didn't help you!"
"Watch it Cookie." He warned as he whispered in her ear.
"No Lucious, you need to watch it because it seems that I need to keep refreshing your memory." She pushed him away. "If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have an iota of the things you have today, so humble yourself muthafucka."
And with that she trotted out the office with her head held high.
The CEO was getting a little frustrated with his ex, but wasn't going to show it. Deep down, he knew when it came to Cookie, there was no compromise it was either one or the other. Nevertheless, it was nice having her in his life again, even if her relentless nature was a pain in his side.
"God, I still love that damn woman." He thought out loud and plopped back down in his chair.
