I don't normally upload a fanfic right after another one. Bu something really abrupt and sudden just kind of happened, and I dealt with it by writing. So here's one FEA oneshot, another one is coming soon.

I do ship this, FYI. And I don't play Fire Emblem so...trololololol...

It's All Tumbling Down

Severa/Inigo

.

.

She scowls into her beer when the door to the bar swings shut, after Inigo is gone.

Severa isn't stupid. She knows what Inigo does when he's away, no matter what he actually says. Especially when he comes back with messy hair, a cool smile, and pink or red lipstick stained on his cheek. He still tries a lame excuse, but he should know by now that Severa ain't fooled.

So she sits in a dingy bar, waiting for Inigo to finish his, ahem, business, and waiting for Lucina, who had to use the bathroom. Cynthia talks, but Severa ignores her, keeping her eyes peeled at the door.

She's not too surprised when she sees Lucina, flushed and cape lopsided, giggling (!) like a maniac. And when she sees Inigo with messed up hair and that damn cool smile, well, Severa isn't an idiot.

It's not surprising—really, it's not—but it still hurts because it's her friend and him hooking up. But she puts on her cold demeanor and says nothing.

(And when Inigo lies again—she tries not to punch him in the face.)

She tries to talk to Cynthia about it, but she doesn't expect her to understand, because the funny girl is in love with Owain and he doesn't go around flirting and flirting and cheating.

So Severa does not say anything (to her friends) and tries talking to her parents about it. But Stahl—oh, her scatterbrained father—is no help and simply tells her to try and snatch the boy before someone else does.

(But Inigo is the one who snatches, not Severa.)

Cordelia tells her about her unrequited crush on Chrom (which Severa already knows) and concludes that it's hard the first time, but she'll find someone else (eventually).

But Severa is not like her mother, and unlike Cordelia, she doesn't love easily. She will always love the playboy, because she won't fall in love with anyone else, and no matter how many times he will hurt her, she will, for some odd reason, still love Inigo.

And Inigo is not Chrom either—he is not dense, and he is well aware of love. He is not Chrom, and she is not Cordelia, and this is not a repeat of history.

Instead, she sits in a dingy bar, watching Inigo and waiting and not crying because she is Severa, the cold-ass bitch who doesn't chase the playboy, but waits for the playboy to chase her.
