Ohayo! This story is based on the events that mostly happen in the movie, Mulan: Rise of a warrior. I will be adding my own plot twists and all that. But I just wanted to inform you that barely anything is mine. -.- Please comment and like! :)

Sakura: Rise of a warrior.

"Sakura-Chan!" Naruto grinned, waving his arms in the air. Her head snapped towards his direction. A smile graced her lips at the sight of her old childhood friend. She waved back in response.

"Whatcha doin?" Naruto asked, putting both of his arms behind his head. "Getting my father's medicine." Sakura replied, her eyes never leaving the stand of medicines. He nodded, the goofy grin never leaving his face. "I was on my way to Ichiraku's.. Do you wanna come?" He asked, watching her pick up different medicine bottles. She shook her head lightly, shooting him a apologetic smile. "Sorry Naruto. Maybe another time, I have to make sure my father takes his medicine."

Naruto sighed, but sent her yet another goofy grin. "That's okay Sakura-Chan! Well. See ya around!" And with that Naruto ran off towards the direction of Ichiraku. After paying for the medicine, she made her way home.

Her father sat outside her house, talking to some of the civilians. Their laughter filled the air, her father's face lit up at the sight of his daughter, but was soon replaced with a sour expression when he saw the items in hand.

She bowed in respect, and made her way into the house. to prepare tea for her father and their guests.

"Thank you.." Her father sighed, drinking from the cup. He glared at Sakura. "This is medicine! Not tea!" He whined like a little kid. Sakura rolled her eyes. "You sound like Naruto." Sakura replied, putting a hand on her hip. The old men surrounding her father burst into laughter, at his childish behaviour. "You have to take medicine father. Your sick." She said once again, before leaving.

Sakura and her father were seated at the dinner table. "Sakura, I don't want you to keep buying my medicine..." Her father spoke up. She tried to interject. But her father lifted his hand to silence her. "I know I'm very sick. But if you keep spending money on my medicine. There'll be no money for food." Her father sighed sadly, looking at the wooden table top. "Father.. Your sick and if you don't take the medicine you'll die..." Sakura whispered loud enough for her father to hear. "I don't want you to reason with me. I said no more medicine. And my decision is final." Her father abruptly stood from the table and walked off.

Sakura had been deep in thought until a knock on the door. Curious as to who it was, she opened it revealing a man in full uniform. A man from the army?

He bowed, and handed her a scroll. "Japan is under attack from an unknown clan. And we need one man from every family to join the army. You are the Haruno family correct? We want Kizashi Haruno to join our forces. Report tomorrow at the training camp at dawn." He informed. "Sorry, Kizashi is asleep at the moment but I will be sure to pass the message on." Sakura replied, smiling. The man nodded and left.

She leaned against the door, reading the scroll. Tears formed in her eyes. What am I supposed to do? Father can't go, He's sick and old. He's sure to die. Unless... I take his place...

I sound like and idiot. But I love my father so much, losing him in a stupid war will make his death meaningless. She shook her head to rid the thought. I'm sorry father. I promise I will come back for you. I hope you will understand that... I'm doing this for you.

Making her decision to take her father's place in the army. She sneaked into her father's room, taking his armor from when he was young. Making sure to take his precious katana. She wrote a note and placed it on her father's table side. Kissing his forehead before leaving.

She sat in her room fully equiped in her father's armour. The only problem she had was her abnormal pink hair. She'd easily be recognized going into the camp with her pink hair. She walked out of the house.

There was only one person who knew how to make temporary hair dye. Naruto. All those times he dyed his hair and pretended to be a girl so he could sneak into the girls bathhouse.

She knocked on the door of his house, it opened immediately. Naruto was in the same uniform. His eyes widened at the sight of Sakura in the same uniform. "Your going too?" Naruto gasped. Sakura nodded, keeping a serious expression. "But no females are allowed! They'll kill you! Your pink hair is quite impossible to spot." Naruto gasped dramatically. Sakura rolled her eyes in response. Like she hadn't thought of that before. "Thanks, but I've already thought of that that's why I'm here you idiot." A vein was visible on her forehead.

"Oi Oi. What do you want me to do? Make hair dye for you?" Naruto joked. Sakura smirked. He gulped as he let her in.

Naruto and Sakura entered the camp. The men sent Sakura suspicious glances. "A man with brown hair and green emerald eyes?.. I think he's gay.." Whispers filled the air. A vein was once again visible on Sakura's forehead. "I'm a man! And I'm not gay!" She shouted, trying to make her voice deep. She turned around to see a snickering Naruto who immediately stopped. "G-gomen." He spoke, hanging his head.

At the registration Sakura had beads of sweat running down her forehead, afraid that she might get caught.

"Next!"

She stepped forward, and handed a man her scroll.

"name." He commanded, eyeing the scroll.

" Haruno Sakur- Saku. I am here to take my father's place." She stammered.

The man sent her a wary glance. "Your father is Kizashi Haruno?" She nodded in response. "Next."

She sighed in relief, as she wandered off to find Naruto. She found him talking with a man with raven hair and onyx eyes. "Oi Naruto!" She called out. He turned around and grinned. "Ahh! Sakur-" He was cut off by a fist that collided with his face. "It's Saku." She said, folding her arms. "Oh. That's right! Saku is your name..." He sighed, noticing her wink. Meaning, play along.

"Who's this?" Sakura asked, eyeing the tall raven smirking. "Uchiha Sasuke." He grunted. "He's an old childhood friend." Naruto explained. "Who are you?" The raven asked. Her body stiffened at his sudden question. "Haruno Saku." She replied, sounding manly. "He's my friend..." Naruto informed, smiling sheepishly at Sasuke.

Before Sasuke could ask anymore questions. A siren could be heard. Signaling them to go to their assigned tents.

Sakura walked off dragging Naruto with her. Sasuke followed close behind.

She opened a flap of the tent. Revealing several men either playing cards or sharpening their weapons. She made her way down to the other end of the tent, choosing the bed closest to the walls. Naruto plopped down next to her. Sasuke took the bed next to Naruto. Sakura rolled her eyes. She hated being followed.

"Neehhh... I heard the showers here suck. I know a good place to shower, earlier I saw some hot pools not far from here." He whispered so that Sakura heard him. She punched him in the face. "I'm bathing in the hot pool but not with you." She grunted. Naruto rubbed his nose, crying anime tears. "That wasn't necessary!" He cried. Sakura ignored him and walked off. Talking to some of the soldiers.

She saw a man crying on his bed. "What's wrong?" She asked. "I want to go home to my family. I only came so that I could make my father proud, and to also honour my family. I'm such a coward." He silently cried. "We all left our families behind, so that we can fight in this pointless war. I'm sure that you have made your father very proud by taking his place." She smiled, also trying to sound manly. "You wouldn't understand anything." The man scowled. Her face went stoic. "You think I don't understand? We all left our families hoping to return to them alive. But we don't know if we'll return alive. That's why your scared. Am I wrong?" She spoke, folding her arms glaring at him. He stopped crying and nodded sadly. "Gomen." He smiled once again.

She turned around to meet onyx orbs staring at her. "What?" She asked, walking past him. "Hn." He replied, pointing to the people in the tent who had witnessed everything. They resumed with what they were doing.

"Naruto wake up" Sakura silently whispered, shaking Naruto. He snored loudly in response. Sakura glared. "Naruto." She grunted quietly punching him on the shoulder. She quickly covered his mouth to keep him from making any noise. His eyes widened, as he let out a muffled scream.

"I need you to tell me where that hot pool is." She commanded. quietly gathering her stuff. "And I need more hair dye." He nodded, and handed her a bottle of hair dye. They sneaked out and made their way to the well hidden hot pool. "Thanks. You can go now." Sakura thanked him. He nodded. And walked back to the campsite.

She looked around to see if she was by herself before she stripped free of her clothes. She got into the pool and sighed. She washed the brown hair dye out. Before applying shampoo and conditioner. She took a deep breath before sinking into the water. She closed her eyes as she relaxed.

Sasuke's p.o.v

I walked through the forest that surrounded the camp until I found myself at the hot pool that Naruto was talking about. That Saku guy is really weird. I stripped myself of my clothing before dipping into the pool.

My eyes widened when a head slowly rose from the water. A female, judging from the abnormal pink hair and her pale shoulders. She turned around and gasped. I appeared in front of her with my katana held against her neck. "Who are you?" I asked glaring. Ignoring the fact that she was naked, and that our nude forms were only inches apart. "I-I live in a village nearby. I only came to bathe." She stammered. I lowered my katana. At the speed of light she stole my katana and switched places, so that I was against the edge with her holding my katana against my neck.

"Who are you?" She asked, trying to keep her nude form under the steaming water. "Hn. Non of your business." I answered smirking. I quickly grabbed her wrist and spun her around, pushing her against the end of the pool, her back facing me. She yelped in pain. She had both arms on the edges of the pool. On her right hand I noticed scratches, that were now scars. "Don't try." I smirked, pushing her harder against the edge. She tried to squirm out of my grip, but failed.

I sighed, what am I doing? She's just an innocent villager. It's not like me to do this to girls. I loosened my grip and turned her around so that she was facing me. Her emerald eyes gazed into mine. We stared into each others eyes for what seemed like forever. She turned her head away. "Go back to your village." I commanded, letting her go. She nodded, and got out of the pull after wrapping a towel around her.

And with that she left.

Normal p.o.v

The next day Sakura woke up and put her uniform on before anyone else could wake up. Last night's encounter with Sasuke was awkward. Luckily she had washed her hair dye out so that her hair was pink. She had applied brown hair dye outside the tent before Sasuke arrived. Naruto woke up and put his armour on over the clothes he had slept in. Naruto got pushed over by a guy wearing his uniform. He snickered. "Move out of the way. I'm the general's son." He stated proudly, sticking his nose into the air. I glared at him. "You bast-" Naruto was cut off by Sasuke holding him back. He gave Naruto a disapproving look.

"Ha. Thought so. You don't have the guts to stand up to me! No one do-" Sakura's fist met his face, he was sent flying out of the tent. "You talk too much." Sakura smirked. Everyone gasped at her sudden action. The general's son stomped back into the tent, kill was written all over his face. "How dare you punch me?! Since I'm such a forgiving person I'll let you live. But disrespect me again and I'll have your head." The boy yelled before walking off.

"Whatever." Sakura mumbled. Putting her helmet on.

Naruto's p.o.v

It was during training when I saw the snobby son of the general drop something. I smirked as an idea entered my mind. I grabbed the small bag with the end of my foot and kicked it into the nearby lake. I looked around to see if anyone saw me. I smirked and continued with my training.

Back at the tent that night everyone was drinking and eating. Sakura had been stuck in her own little world. I had offered her a drink, but she politely declined. At that moment I saw how vulnerable she was among these men. I promised myself to look after Sakura-Chan and I still live to fulfill that promise.

Normal p.o.v

"WAKE UP" A voice shouted.

They all scrambled from their beds. And stood at the ends. Holding their hands into a saluting position.

"ONE OF YOU BASTARDS STOLE MY NECKLACE!" The general's son shouted, pointing at the men.

Naruto gulped, beads of sweat running down his forehead. "Who stole it? If you own up I won't kill you but I'll cut your hands off." The general asked. Nobody made a sound. "CHECK THEM! I KNOW THEY STOLE IT!" The general's son shouted. The general glared at them. "All of you strip! Guards, check their clothing." The general commanded.

Sakura's eyes widened. Strip?! but I can't...

Naruto glanced worriedly at Sakura who didn't move. The men began stripping.

Knowing what she had to do she just stood there. Thinking if she should go ahead with the newly formed plan in her head. Minutes passed while she contemplated with herself on making this horrid decision that could conclude to death, torture and who knows what else.

A few more moments passed before she spoke up, lifting her head to meet the general's gaze.

"It was me..." Sakura admitted. Naruto stared at her shocked, Sasuke stopped what he was doing and glanced at Sakura.

A guard walked up to Sakura, and pushed her toward the general and his son. She sat on her knees on the floor, with her hands behind her back. Sasuke's eyes widened in shock as he saw that the back of her right hand had the same scars he saw on that woman's hand he saw the night before.

He walked up to the general after quickly putting his armour on. "Please wait. We're not sure if he was the one that did it. Please let me investigate." Sasuke grunted. "What makes you think your in position to ask?" He asked. "My father, Fugaku Uchiha funded for this camp. I'm sure he'd love to take all that funding back, and leave you with nothing but dirt. And I'm pretty sure he'd love to take the general's title away from you" Sasuke smirked. The general hesitated before nodding. His son's jaw dropped to the ground, his eye's as wide as saucers. Sasuke gave a curt before grabbing Sakura's arms, taking Sakura out of the tent.

' Gomen Sakura-Chan. I didn't save you this time.' Naruto thought. Clenching his fists.

The guards had lead him to a private tent. He commanded the guards to leave, and to not disturb them for the time being. He closed the flap of the tent and looked around to make sure that people who surrounded them were out of ear shot. He examined Sakura's state. Strands of brown and pink hair framed her face. The brown hair had ruined her natural beauty look, but still he thought she looked better than the other girls he had seen.

He spoke up, breaking the silence.

"I know you didn't do it." Sasuke said with a stoic expression. "Naruto did it." He grunted, folding his arms. "That Idiot." She seethed. "And I also know that you're a girl." He spoke, keeping his face straight. Sakura was speechless, but nonetheless replied. "I did it to take my father's place. He's old and sick. He wouldn't be able to survive here."

Her emerald orbs stared at his with such passion and sorrow he had never seen before. So she's telling the truth... Her eyes never left mine, they stayed like that until he noticed what we were doing. He quickly averted his gaze to the entrance of the tent.

Sasuke kept quiet, trying to let her words sink in.

He left the tent to grab a bucket of water, hoping to avoid a awkward conversation between him and the pinkette. "What're you doing?" She asked warily. Using the water he washed the brown hair dye out. She stared at him shocked. "You look weird with brown hair.." He smirked. She sat on her knees in front of Sasuke. Keeping her eyes on the ground. A few moments of silence passed and non of them had dared to break the silence.

She looked up with teary eyes. "Please don't tell anyone of this. I don't want my father to go to war..." She sobbed, letting the tears fall.

Sasuke looked at her for a while. Taking in all her features. He hadn't realized this but she was beautiful. And with an addition of her green emerald eyes, she looked like an angel. He had never took a liking to a girl before. A weird sensation flowed through the pit of my stomach making me feel a little light headed. He thought about the consequences she would have to face if he told the General she was a girl. Presumably death, or torture. She did it for her father. Which was an exceptional excuse. But most of all... She was Naruto's friend. He let out a depraved sigh.

Thinking for a few minutes he replied, cracking a small smile.

"I won't"
