Author's notes: Based on a true story. He was not my boss, though.

One of my many drabble-ish stories

Pairing: Gabby

Only Following Your Lead

It wasn't that Abby didn't love the game they seemed to play around each other. She did. For a while. It was the fact that he would get so close or kiss her so inappropriately that it would confuse the senses in her body, telling her that if this tension was not relieved soon, she was going to do something drastic.

A lingering hand at the small of her back, a soft kiss to the cheek, a sign that only they knew and she could not believe he would use with her, a smile just for her. Even a glare she usually laughed at, inches from her face until they would part, teasing each other.

Abby didn't want anything to happen at work and certainly not to lose her job or cause him to lose his for something so stupid. But what they had been doing for years, looked suspicious enough coming from the outside anyway, so what was one more inch, one more sign of public affection.

She had decided it was about time to get her revenge.

They were in the squad-room but she knew that the only ones that would be watching them would be Tony and Ziva.
"DNA?" He asked her.
"Gonna be another 12 hours." Abby told him.
"Then what are you doing up here?" He asked, and it was true, she could see Tony and Ziva watching their entire conversation.
"You called me up here." Abby argued.
"For the results." He said glaring at her. She matched his with her own and a face-off ensued. Tony and Ziva held their breaths as they saw their boss and forensic scientist, stand with their faces only an inch or so apart. Daring each other to back away first. A sly smirk erupted on Abby's face as she closed the distance between them for a slight union of their lips, crushing together. It was a quick peck that Abby administered before immediately pulling away and walking back to the elevator.

As she stood in the elevator, waiting for the doors to close, she looked at Gibbs. At the look of shock on his face, she smiled at him and signed, 'game over' to him.
