One of These Days
Six long years ago, that's when she died on the inside.
As she lay in her bed thoughts of past events ran through her mind, she couldn't let them go. No, they weren't the best memories she had...but it was all she had, without even knowing it her dull blue eyes shed tears.
Why had this happened, she did not know, she has spent the last five years going over everything the police had gathered that day, it all lead to dead ends. The sounds played over and over in her mind again. The sound of her mother singing to her, her father's laughs...then the gunshots. Her mother had hid her in the small room at the back of their closet that went to the attic.
She quickly snapped out of thought when she heard her door open, pushing herself off of her bed she didn't even look at the person who walked into her room. Instead she walked over to the chair in the corner and grabbed her long white coat, after putting it on she pulled her long black hair into a messy bun.
As she finished getting ready there she stood looking at her best friend. His red hair Ames atop his head, his goggles hidden in it, the rest pulled together in the back. She couldn't help but give a sad smile as she looked at him. His outfit was a mess as well, his black pants begging to be ironed same for his shirt. He wore white button down with the top few buttons undone, then his black jacket, simple and easy. He always was an easy going person, that's what she liked about him most.
"Reno...It's good to see you again."
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
He gave his goofy grin as he was leaning on the door frame looking at her; she stood at the foot of her bed in that small room. Unlike him she had her clothes nicely fixed, long dress pants that gave a slight flare at the bottom showing her simple slip-on black shoes. Her shirt fit her nicely, not lose like his, it was a lovely red shirt that was cut into a ' v ' not going to low. Topping it off was her long white coat that reached her knees. But what caught him was her face; it was such a lovely ivory color, and her large blue eyes that were so sad. Though he could only see one, he never knew why she kept her left side of her face covered by her long flowing black hair. He always loved to see both of her eyes rather that just one.
The worst is over now and we can breathe again
It had been a few months when they had last had time to hangout, during that time Reno had tried to come up with away to tell her how he really felt. He just wanted to wash away all her pain, sure she had died on the inside, but yet she kept on going. She let nothing hold her back from finding the man that had so brutally killed her mother and father. Reno was the only person from her past that she still talked to, only because he had made it appoint to see her even if she didn't want to see anyone. He had told himself that is what friends do, but he was lying to himself. He only found out his true reason within the last few months. He loved her, that was all there was to it; he loved her, everything about her. He soon found himself praying that maybe, just maybe one of these days he could put that old smile back on her face, and make her eyes shine like they did when they were kids. With nothing but love, maybe one of these days she would love him just as much.
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
