6:30 AM

That was the time her alarm clock rang. Sakura groaned as she reached out to shut that blaring noise that wouldn't let her sleep. Once it was quiet she almost sighed in content, until she realized almost instantly what day it was. She bolted up from her sleeping position.

Today is the first day of my internship at Konoha Medical! The medical field were generally a very competitive field. Getting into Konoha Medical was hard as so many applicants apply each year, they only allowed for the best. The Uchiha family had some strict regulations with anything they own. Konoha Medical was no expectation. She however wouldn't have it any other way. She have worked hard to get where she was today. She wanted to help others in a way she wasn't help all those years ago.

She looked at the sleeping figure next to her. She could tell he had a long night. He was still fully clothe. This time however he did managed to get his shoes off the bed. The last time he crashed like this he forgot to take off his shoes leaving a big mess she had to clean up after he woke up.

She got up from bed, she didn't have to go in the hospital until eight, but before leaving she had to make breakfast for her Ash, he would get really grumpy if she didn't prepared a meal for him. With the stress of medical school and her boyfriend she felt worn down, but she knew better then to complain. Ash would not be happy and the hurt really wasn't worth it. Once she was dressed up which consisted of light pink scrubs and non-slip shoes she entered the kitchen to prepared breakfast.

Ash always liked big meals so she made a few links of sausages, a stack of pancakes, and scrambled eggs. She figured it would be awhile before he woke so she placed them all in an aluminum tray and left it in the oven at very low heat, just to keep it warm. She placed the syrup on top of the counter. She looked at the microwave time and saw it now read 7: 15 AM. It was about time she leave, the bus would arrive at its stop in 10 minutes. She took out a notepad from her purse and wrote:

Breakfast is in the oven. Please shut oven off when done.

I'm heading out for my first day! Wish me luck!

I'll be home in the afternoon. Text me what you want for dinner.

Love you.

Satisfied she placed the note under the syrup bottle. Unlike Ash she could not eat a big breakfast. She got a power bar from the cabinet, took a water bottle from the fridge and left.

7:55 AM

She had five minutes to spare. She walked into the hospital and was amazed at the size of the lobby as well as the cleanliness. The tile floor had a large symbol of the Uchiha family, which covered most of the lobby. A little ways off to her left was a large self-playing piano, it was playing a soft melody which she found soothing. She slowly walked over to the front desk. A young girl with short brown hair gave her a smile, "how can I help you?'

"I'm here to see Lady Tsunade."

The girl nodded. She dialed a number on the phone, her voice came out in the speakers; "Lady Tsunade to the front desk please."

"You can just take a seat until she arrives."

Sakura nodded, "Thank you."

Sakura didn't have to wait long. A blonde woman appeared before her, she looked intimating. Tsunade were analyzing her, eyes never leaving her face. Sakura knew better then to speak so she waited for her new mentor to start the conversation. Sakura was stunned when she saw a small smirk appeared on her lips, "You will be the brightest intern that ever came here."

Sakura couldn't help but blushed, she knew that her color choice was definitely more feminine then most she saw as she walked in. Bright colors in general always made her mood happier she always took it upon herself to get some.

"Today will be simple. I will show you around and you will shadow my work day. You will work the days I work. Today it will be up to 6 PM."

6 PM, there is no way Ash would accept that. She wanted to bring it to her attention, but kept quiet, there was no way she could just leave whenever she wanted, especially on an internship.

"Is there any questions?"

Sakura kept her mouth shut and shook her head. She would have to text Ash later and hopefully he would understand.

Tsunade nodded, "Good. Follow me."

Sakura nodded. She got up and followed her to the east wing, the internal medicine department. This was the second busiest wing of the hospital as it deals with a little bit of everything. The emergency department was of course the busiest as it deals with the most extreme cases as well as on the spot cases. She at first wanted to choose the emergency, but once realizing the long hours it had she decided against it. Ash would never approved of a 12 or longer hours shift. They got to the elevator and went to the 6th floor. Unlike the first it wasn't as busy and was pretty quiet. Most of the rooms were offices she realized and many were locked and dark inside. There were a few assistants who were working, each one sat in front of their respective office. These were the people that worked for the big bosses she noticed.

"This floor is where the department managers and the director work," Tsunade explained, "Today is a very important day. A member of the Uchiha family will be here for the year to supervise the hospital."

Sakura wondered why. She knew the Uchiha family was a powerful family that controlled half of Konoha while the Hyuuga family have the other half of the city. They funded this hospital to get the best high tech equipment. The Uchiha family unlike the Hyuuga were less in the spotlight as they liked their privacy. She barely caught glimpses of them in the news. Though she could care less who they were as it really didn't concern her.

"I expect you to perform to the highest of standards as the Uchiha family prefer that. As my intern whatever you do will reflect on me. So keep that in mind."

Sakura nodded. As if she wasn't already stress out she'll have to keep an eye out on the family member that will be supervising, "Excuse me. Do you know which Uchiha will come here?"

"The youngest son, Sasuke Uchiha. If memory served me right he should be about your age."

"You know them well?"

Tsunade nodded, "I've been working for the family for years. I have just finished my internship when they took notice of me. Keep in mind Sakura if you show them how hard you work they will remember you and your future will be bright."

Sakura nodded keeping those words to heart.

7:00 AM

Sasuke woke up to his phone ringing. Groaning he saw the caller ID before picking up the phone, "What do you want Itachi?"

"Is that the type of greeting I get?"

He growled as he heard the amusement in his brother voice, "Why are you waking me up so early?"

"Did you forget what today is?"

In fact Sasuke did forget, after his father lectured him again he went out got a little too drunk and hook up with a very desperate girl. He looked behind him and saw she was still sleeping.

Sasuke groaned as he got up and rubbed his eyes, he had a slight headache, "Enlighten me."

He heard Itachi sighed, "Come on Sasuke you have to do better than that. Today is your first day supervising Konoha Medical."

He vaguely remembered his father mentioning that. He was sent to be with the hospital for a year and report back to his father on the activities that was going on and after the year they would find a new director. The previous director were stealing funds from each department to help pay for his new homes, cars, and anything luxurious, his father did not want a repeat of that so Sasuke was to watch and see if anyone else was working with him.

"I don't see why father chose me. You or Shishui would have been a better chose."

"You need to stop acting like a child. Shishui and I already have prior obligations. You on the other hand tend to be reckless. Father just want you to have some responsibilities."

Sasuke always hated it when Itachi reprimanded him like a child. He knew that Sasuke never wanted to be part of the family business, but of course it was unavoidable. He was basically royalty in this city. He thought the more reckless he was the less likely chance of his father setting him up for any important responsibility. Apparently he was wrong. After the bar fight he had two days ago, his father was more than determined to put him on a tight leash. With the power his father has he was able to hide away the bar incident by compensating everyone in the bar. He always did this when Sasuke got into trouble. This was one of the reasons nobody publicly knew of these incidents. Though the bar incident was the last straw for his family.

"Fine, whatever. Though I am not going in at some god forsaken hour."

"A win is a win. Father wouldn't mind as long as you actually show up and take care of your responsibilities."

After those words Itachi hanged up. He looked at the time, it was still early. He rubbed his throbbing temple. Last night really got to him. He went to the bathroom and grabbed some Tylenol from the medicine cabinet.

"Hey there," he heard a seductive voice say behind him.

He looked and saw that she didn't bother putting her clothes on. With that smile on her face he knew what she was trying to aim for. He was not in much of the mood to continue last night activities.

"You know where the door is. You should go."

His dismissive tone did not bothered her, "Oh, but we had so much fun."

She walked up to him and was about to kiss him when he blocked her by grabbing her shoulders and forcibly pushing her away from him, "I'm not joking. I have too many things to do today."

She saw how serious he was and backed down, though it didn't deterred her completely, "You have my number. You can call me whenever you want to have fun." She exited the bathroom and Sasuke quickly shut the door behind her. He really hate it when his flings get clingy. That's when he usually cut ties with them. He sighed, the throbbing did not go away completely. He rubbed the bridge of his nose. Coffee sounds nice right about now.

oooooooooooo

9:00 AM

Sasuke walked through the hospital entrance and straight to the front desk. The woman on the front desk looked up at him and quickly blushed. Sasuke couldn't help but smirk. His ego always boost when he get that reactions from women.

The woman quickly composed herself though, "How may I help you?

"I'm Sasuke Uchiha. Where can I find Tsunade?"

At the mention of his name she quickly fumbled, "Oh Mr. Uchiha. We have been expecting you. She is at her office room 607. I will call her to let her know you are here."

Sasuke shook his head, "That is not necessary."

If he was going to supervise then catching them unaware seemed to be the best course of action. It would be a lot easier to catch them in a suspicious act. Though he doubt this would be Tsunade. She was a longtime family friend that was trusted. He left the lobby and took the elevator to the 6th floor.

So far the morning has been non stopped paperwork. It was boring, but she knew why she had to them. Tsunade wanted to make sure she understood proper terminology and protocols. She wrote different hospital scenarios to see how Sakura would handle the situation. It has only been an hour since she was in the office, but it felt longer. A knock at the door caught her attention. Sakura looked up and saw a man standing by the entrance. Usually she never judged on appearances, but she had to admit he was the most attractive man she had lay eyes on. Once that thought left her brain she had to mentally berate herself for thinking that. Ash was her guy, he would not be please if he noticed that she was looking at another man.

She quickly composed herself, "May I help you?"

The man looked a little confused, "I'm here to see Lady Tsunade."

"Oh, she had to go to a consultation with one of the patient. She should be back soon."

He nodded, "May I seat?"

Sakura was a little taken aback by the question, "Ah, yea sure."

He walked on the other end of the room and sat on the couch. Sakura went back to her work, but quickly realized she couldn't concentrate with him staring. Finishing this work was important, but Tsunade would appreciate if she took care of her guest.

"Would you like coffee?"

He nodded, "Coffee sounds great."

Sakura quickly got up and went straight to the small counter where the coffee machine was. She started to prepare his coffee, "Would you like milk and sugar?"

"No sugar, just add a little milk," he replied.

Sakura took the cup of coffee and handed it to him. She wasn't sure if she should seat back at the desk or seat next to him. Sasuke looked at her, "You aren't going to get yourself any?"

She shook her head, "I don't think I should."

"Why not?"

"Today is my first day and I do not want to do anything to jeopardize my position."

He smiled in amusement, "and what position would that be?"

"I'm an intern."

"Ah, must be scary for you then."

Sakura shook her head, "No not really, but I do want to make a good impression."

"I understand that, but I won't be able to drink if you are not going to get any," She was about to object when he continued, "I will take the heat for this if it becomes an issue."

Sakura slowly nodded. She was feeling a little fatigue as she woke up early. She decided to go and make some for herself. She doubt she would get in trouble for coffee, but she didn't want to get too comfortable in the beginning, not until she knew the routine. Unlike the guest, she loved sugar in her coffee. She have such a sweet tooth.

The guest noticed as well, "That's quite a bit of sugar."

Sakura smiled and sat beside him, "I have such a sweet tooth."

"I was never one for sweets, but maybe you can teach me to enjoy them."

Sakura blushed, she didn't know what this man was saying, but she was fairly sure it wasn't innocent as he made it out to be. Before she could replied she heard a voice.

"I see you've meet my intern Mr. Uchiha."

He sighed, "Uchiha is what people call my dad. Just call me by my name."

It took her only moments to realize just who she was seating with. She quickly stood up, careful not to spill her coffee, "I-It's nice to meet you sir," She nearly fainted when she heard herself stuttered.

Sasuke almost laughed at the girl's expression when she found out who exactly it was she was talking to. Thanks to the family privacy very few people knew exactly what his family looked like. Her nervousness was adorable. Even flirting with her slightly was fun, he could tell she wasn't use to such attention.

"Yes, she was great company."

Tsunade even smiled at the girl's behavior, "The office is set for you. We have all the documents your father ask that you review."

Sasuke nodded, "Thank you," he gave a quick smirk at the fluster girl, "See you around…"

He paused waiting for her to introduce herself. When she realized what he was waiting for she quickly said, "Sakura." She blushed when she realize her high pitch tone.

"Nice to meet you Sakura."

He left the two and headed to the director's office. Looks like the year won't be as boring as he thought.
