Just a (very) short . . . thing, I guess, that was running around in my head, bashing away and not letting me sleep. Based after the last ep season 1. The morning after, Rumpelstiltskin is waiting for forgiveness, and is afraid he may not receive it. Please give me CC! :D :)

He looked up, his eyes catching the shine in her long brown curls as she turned towards him, the sunlight streaming through the window illuminating her like a candle in a dim room. She smiled at him, brighter even than the sun, and all he could do was stare, a wolf caught in a trap. She was radiant, her blue eyes sparkling like sunlight hitting water on a lake. She walked up to her old wolf, reaching up to run her hand through his brown mane, laughing breathlessly at the cornered look on his face. He sneered at her

"Forgiven me so soon, dearie?" his teeth were barred; he was a frightened wolf. But she saw it, saw his tucked tail and the fear in his deep brown eyes, shaded and shadowed in contrast to her shimmering splendour. She stepped closer, ever the brave hearted lamb. He was as cold and sharp as a steal blade, and she was as soft and tender as the sacrificial lamb, but the blade of him bore his name, and she knew it.

"Rumpelstiltskin." her voice was soft, tender, strong. And his sharp edges melted away in her sunlight, the ice cold fear that had griped his heart relinquishing its hold as she stepped in closer, close enough that they shared the same breath.

"I have loved you. As I still love you. As I will love you, forever. I promised you that forever, a long time ago now, and I won't break my promise." she almost whispered the words, so soft were they spoken. His breath hitched in his chest, it felt like he was dying, drowning in her words. She lent in, brushing her lips against his own, and for a moment all he did was stand, before reaching his arms around her, pulling her to him with all the strength he possessed, kissing her with everything he had; her kiss was his life, his breath, and he wanted to live. She offered up everything to him, all that he wanted was given in their kiss, every promise, every hurt and pain, pleasure and happiness; all for him. They cradled each other's broken hearts in their hands, a silent promise to put the pieces back together. Even if they came back a little chipped.
