I'll Eat You Whole

Joel wandered the streets around Perdido Beach searching for food, any food. He was just so hungry. But he guessed everyone else in the FAYZ was feeling the same way he could see it in the sunken cheeks and pale faces.

He kicked stray rocks and leaves with the toes of his oldshoes. He started to think about food, again. He couldn't help it; it was the only thing on his mind, ever. And for that he felt guilty. His mouth started to water as he pictured a steak.

Joel decided to check in some abandoned houses. They could have food, it was possible, he hoped. He walked into the first house he saw, hesitantly. He even knocked first, old habits die hard, Joel guessed. He walked with fists clenched at his sides. He found the kitchen after about forty seconds of cautious searching.

That was when he spotted a pile of blankets laying on the floor. He walked over to it so he could investigate. He kicked it gently and rolled it over with his foot. Huddled in the blankets was a body. A cold, unmoving body. Dead. Joel gasped. He had never seen a real dead body. He never expected it would...smell... like, like meat. He could feel his mouth starting to water as he stared at the body, completely and utterly still. His heart pounded loudly in his chest and sweat started to bead upon his forehead. Meat. Real meat.

Joel suddenly staggered back. What was he thinking? Was he really going to do this? Could he really eat a...a...dead body. He was disgusted with himself.

But they're already dead, it doesn't matter. He contemplated with himself.

They once had a life. They had a family. They had a soul.

You're hungry. That's meat. Do the math.

Hunger pains, like daggers stabbed into Joel's stomach that was all the convincing he needed. He slowly walked over to some drawers and started searching. After a few minutes he pulled out a long, sharp knife that glinted in the light that shined in from the window. He walked back over to the body, holding the knife over them, considering. It was then that Joel noticed it was the body of a young girl, maybe seven or eight. Her dead eyes still open watching Joel, piercing him.

The knife clattered loudly to the ground. Joel dropped to his knees. He looked over the girl just one more time before the hunger kicked in and he sunk his teeth into her lifeless body.

Monster.

I wasn't sure I should actually upload this. I'm still not sure I should have done it. I'm sorry.

Well, nonetheless R&R.
