Disclaimer: Me no own Kyle XY.
Notes: A short Amanda/Kyle one-shot taking place near the beginning of season two, so some light spoilers for the beginning. (Episodes escape me now, but it was the one where Amanda gets that job which inspired me.)
i. I believe in you
If there was one thing Kyle was absolutely sure of-it was his love for Amanda-
--or really his great like for her because he still hadn't learned about the kind of love you have for another human being whom you don't consider a part of your adoptive family.
But, in time, he would learn. And she would be there alongside him, to teach him. To hold his hand.
ii. Tabla Rasa
Kyle knew a lot of things. A lot of scientific and mathematical knowledge swam in his brain, just waiting to be used.
But--
there was one thing Kyle didn't understand: women.
He didn't think about it too much. After all, he was an equilvalent to a brand-new baby.
He was a baby in some weird, messed up way.
He was still learning about all the different connotations everything seemed to have.
I want to be your first.
It got kind of confusing a lot of the time, but, Amanda was always there, smiling gently- as though to say, "It's all right, I wanna be your first too." And she wasn't talking about him being her first costumer.
iii. Make the night as bright as day
Amanda once asked him: "What do you see in me?"
He was promptly confused by the question, and only gave her a blank stare in return.
She anticipated his confusion and explained that what she really was asking was why he had chosen her, why he liked her.
Why?
Kyle smiled shyly at her.
"You make my world brighter."
iv. Sharing Mysteries
He couldn't lose her, that much he knew. But, he also couldn't exactly tell her the truth.
He had read somewhere that once you learned something, it could never be unlearned then. And that the truth often hurt more than it helped. In this situation, he was beginning to understand why some people lied. It was easier than the alternative.
And yet--
He knew he had to tell her. He finally decided on the truth that would hurt the less, and that was perhaps not going to be the most ugliest truth to her.
He thought- hoped, prayed - that in time he would be able to tell her the most important secrets and truths of all.
