A.N. This is one of the many stories,i have have in reserve so i hope you like. I own nothing (i really wish i did)

He wanted to believe. He really did.

But every time he tried, he was reminded by the harsh reality that was the world. Families torn apart, entire cities destroyed in a single night, a mother taken from her children all too soon and an innocent man found dead in a phone box, a picture of his family clutched in his limp hand.

But the sight of his mother's face on a homunculus as she slowly evaporated was enough to make him curse God and his non-existence, for who else could he blame but himself? His brother's current state, the deaths in Lior and the fading woman in front of him. All his fault, every single one. There was no God looking after them, no divine spirit looking after them, just cold selfish humans looking out for themselves.

Edward Elric wanted to believe. He really did. He just couldn't bring himself to do it, no matter how hard he tried.
