Cyclops' Day Off by Batman100

Characters: Cyclops/Scott S.

Genre: Humor

Rating: K+

After receiving invitations to a Mutant Rights party, the X-Men head off for the festivities, thus leaving the X-Mansion in Cyclops' care. Comedic chaos is bound to happen

"All right Scott, now listen carefully: We will be gone for only 2 days, or 48 hours if you know what I mean. I'm counting on you to make sure the mansion is in tip-top shape when we get back. Understood?" Xavier asked, as Cyclops was already having his nose buried in the latest issue of Daily Xavier. "Oh! Um, yes sir! The house is safe while I'm around to watch it! Uh…stay inside and guard it, yes!" Scott said dramatically, flexing his muscles. "Very good then. The house is all yours." And with that, the X-Jet flew off, and neither Xavier nor the other X-Men saw Scott whooping for joy, screaming "freedom!" Jean just smiled and blew a kiss at him from her window. "All right now, I'm in charge of the mansion…and what happens in the mansion stays in the mansion! Especially me!" Scott grinned as he made a beeline for the fridge and came back into the TV room with a big bowl of cheese puffs in one hand and 2 bottles of Pepsi in the other. "It's good to be the king." Scott smiled as he started watching Xena: Warrior Princess and munching on the cheese puffs…

Two Days Later…

"I say, Charles, that was indeed the best convention I've ever been too! And not to mention seeing Tony Stark himself supporting the Mutant Rights votes!" Beast said proudly as they were approaching the mansion. "I'm hoping Scott did a good job guarding the mansion." Xavier said hopefully. "Now come on Charles. Scott is our finest, bravest, most courageous member we've had in the team for many years! Who knows, when the time comes, maybe then…" Beast said dreamily, playfully nudging Xavier. He already knew that Scott would one day take over and lead the X-Men. "Scott? We're home!" Jean cheered as they entered, only to see the mansion in the same neat, pristine order as it was before…and Scott himself on the couch, his eyes glued to reruns of the X-Men cartoon series from the '90s. "Mein gott! Don't tell me he's been there all night!" Nightcrawler gasped. Jean walked over and sat down beside her boyfriend. "Scott? Scott?" Jean said, tapping his shoulder. But Scott started snoring and then fell flat on the floor. "Um, Colossus? A little help getting Mr. Man-of-the-Mansion upstairs, please?" Jean asked hopefully, trying to lift Scott up. "It would be my pleasure." Colossus said reluctantly, already hoisting Scott up by the legs. "You know something? I think you should have Scott do this job more often." Beast said. Xavier smiled and thought Good work Scott. You have made us all very proud.
