Human girl

Carlisle POV

My first companion, now son, Edward has been with me for nearly one hundred years. He is different than his siblings. Esme and I have often wondered if he was too young to be changed. He was moody and antisocial. Over the years, much furniture had been destroyed in his bad moods. I had hoped that Rosalie would be what Esme meant to be to Edward, but I was clearly wrong. Nearly all their conversations ended in fights or grudges that lasted for years. Having Edward was like having a permanent teenager in the house, which he often reminded me he was. But Bella made all the difference.

I remember her first day, where he lost himself. My usually composed and collected son was racing away from her scent. None of us could have predicted that their happily ever after. Maybe Alice could, maybe not. Bella had truly changed Edward- she'll never know how much we can't thank her for.

My cynical, sardonic son was changed into a loving father and husband by a seemingly plain human girl.
