This is my first fic! Hope you like it and give me any pointers!
A lonesome figure walked between the forgotten graves, towards the one of which she would never forget. She tread the familiar path she had walked many times.
His final resting place.
The young girl, no women, she had seen too much to still be a child, there were so few children left in the wizarding world, walked on determinedly. Her long cloak flowed over the ground as she hastened towards the magnificent marble badger that guarded her true love.
She placed a single red rose at the badgers feet, and remembered the meaning behind the rose…
She walked down the marble staircase of the Entrance Hall, her eyes nervously scanning the crowds for him. The Hogwarts Champion she had longed to dance with. It was finally happening. She had finally caught his eye. Then she saw him emerge suddenly from the midst of the crowds. He walked towards her, a melting smile playing across his lips. Her heart leapt. They met at the bottom of the staircase. He reached for her hand and kissed it. He passed her a single red rose. She smiled as she looked deeply into his eyes. She took his extended arm and he led her towards the best night of her life.
The Yule Ball had taken place in her fifth year, and his sixth. Had she known what was coming, she would have spent every moment with him. Treasured everything about him. All she had now was a photograph from Valentines Day that Madam Pudifoot had taken. The one and only Valentines Day they spent together.
She stood back and stared at his head stone, fighting the flood of memories and tears. Her fingers found the chain around her neck. It was a simple necklace, but had the world of meaning.
They stood in a small chamber off from the Entrance Hall. The Third Task was to start soon, but he had pulled her away from her dinner and into the room, which they were in now.
"I got you this." He handed her a small velvet box. She took it and opened it with a gasp.
"O, Ced, you shouldn't have!"
"I know, but I wanted to."
Hanging from a fine gold chain was a simple gold heart. Engraved on the front was; C C Forever…
"Look on the back." She tenderly flipped the heart over and saw the words I love you for now and forever, and smiled.
"I have to go now." He said, after fastening the chain around her neck. "But remember what it says." He placed a sweet kiss on her lips. "Remember, if anything happens to me-" he began, but she cut him off, by kissing him tenderly."Nothing will happen." She reassured him.
"Yes, but even so, don't stop living because of me." He kissed her again, then slowly backed out of the Chamber, slowly backed out of her life.
She would never forget that night. It was the happiest night of her life, yet the night where her life ended. She kneeled down beside the head stone and traced the words engraved into the stone.
"Remember Cedric Diggory." She murmured.
She stood once again and rubbed her swelling belly. "He will be named Cedric." She whispered into the night.
A man stood on the edge of the graveyard, watching her. He loved her with all his heart, but he knew she would never truly return the feelings. But being the one that was there for her, to love her, to care for her, was enough in its self.
Slowly, she turned and walked towards the gate, and collapsed into Roger's waiting arms.
