Author Note: I just wanted to write out an idea I had while finishing up volume one of "Dengeki Daisy". Did I mention how unbelievably sweet and cute I think they are? Well I do. Also, I wanted to practice 3rd person point of view, and I'm not very good at that, so sorry.
EDIT: The last line of this was edited due to a reader (Thank you, reader, you know who you are) noting that the last line wasn't worded quite right.
Disclaimer: I don't own Dengeki Daisy, or make any profit from this.
Kurosaki found Teru passed out in the schoolyard on a Friday afternoon.
"Damn it, Teru..." he leaned down, scooping her up. "Teru?" He jiggled her in his arms in an attempt to rouse her.
Teru moaned as if she was in pain, then slowly opened her eyes. "Kurosaki?"
"Are you hurt? Who hurt you?" Kurosaki set her on a nearby bench and studied her.
"I just haven't been feeling well..." Teru's face was fever flushed and she couldn't contain the weak coughs that left her. "I think it's just the flu or something... I'm fine, Kuro..."
Kurosaki made a mental note not to smoke in front of her for at least a week. "I'll take you home. You need to rest." He picked her back up.
"I'm fine!" Teru mumbled, but she was too weak to squirm. Instead, she just stared up at him in wonder. "Kuro-chan, you have really pretty eyes..."
She's delirious. Kurosaki thought. Don't get your hopes up.
"Kuro-chan?" Teru murmured, reaching a shaking hand up to touch his face. "You're so pretty Kuro-chan..."
Kurosaki tried not to laugh as he found the key to her apartment and let himself in.
"Kuro-chan...you're so nice... and pretty..." Teru kept the rant mumbling up, "Are you Daisy? You kind of look like a daisy..."
Kurosaki locked the door behind them. "I think you need some rest, Teru, that's just creepy."
"Kuro..." Teru clung to him, even as he tried to tuck her into bed. "Everything's spinning... there's two of you... oh, I don't think I can handle two Kurosaki's..."
"Let go of me. And stay there." Kurosaki finally detached the girl's hands from his shirt and went in search of anything to bring her fever down.
As he sorted through the medicine cabinet, he heart soft footsteps behind him, then Teru's thin arms encircled his waist.
"Kuro... I love you." Teru murmured into the back of his shirt. "Do you love me?"
Kurosaki's heart tied itself in monkey knots. He did love her, but he had no right to. "Teru, you need to be in bed."
"Kuro..." Her arms slid off of him and he turned just in time to grab her as she fell.
"Damn it! Teru, you need to take care of yourself better!" Kurosaki tucked her back into bed, then found a bottle of Tylenol and left two out for her on the nightstand with a glass of water.
Just as he was turning to leave, Teru started to sob. She seemed to be asleep, but she was shaking and crying, "Daisy-Kuro... don't leave me... please..."
Kurosaki exhaled. So she knew. How long had she known? That was a mystery. But she knew. He kicked off his shoes and lay down beside her. He had absolutely no right to be doing this, but as Daisy, he was supposed to be there for her, always.
Teru's eyes opened just a little, tiny slits. "Daisy-Kuro?" She asked. "You're..."
Kurosaki pulled her against him and just held her. "Just get some sleep, Teru. Please."
Teru blinked, confused. "You never say please... are you sick?"
Kurosaki laughed. "No, that would be you. Now sleep or I'll skin you alive." Unlike usual, the words had no real threat to them, since they were said with a smile.
Teru fell asleep in his arms, and yet, when she awoke, she didn't remember that he was Daisy...
Author Note: First Dengeki Daisy fic, and I'm sorry it sucks. Reviews and PMs welcome!
