Hermione stood in front of the mirror, staring her reflection.
Months of preparation and planning had finally led to this day.
It was meant to be the happiest day of her life, and yet she felt so insecure.
She stood tall in her beautiful white gown, small pearls embroidered in a simplistic swirling pattern along the top of the corset, flowing all the around to the white lace tied up in a bow at the back.
The dress was a snug fit, tightly hugging and accentuating her usually subtle curves.
The short lace train flowing down from the bottom of the corset, resting comfortably on the floor beside her.
It wasn't grand or extravagant, that was never her style and today of all days she wanted to just fully be herself.
It had been several months since the marriage law passed freeing those such as herself to finally live with equally along side the rest of the world.
She remembered the day with pristine clarity.
The women she had fallen deeply in love with abruptly kneeling before her in a sea of happy protesters, presenting Hermione with a fluffy pearled scrunchie and popping the question.
All the commotion disappeared in that moment. She remembered her eyes filling with tears, realizing just how much she loved this women, and how nothing would ever make her happier.
They spun in the centre of the crowd, a tight embrace, a blissful world of their own.

Now the day was finally here all Hermione could do was worry. She fingered the fluffy pearl scrunchy she still wore on her wrist.
She knew behind the big wooden doors to her right waited a room full of family and friends, there to share the magical day.
Her father would be patiently waiting at the start of the isle, his bright beaming smile on show for everyone to see how proud he would be.
Yet it had felt like so long since she had seen her love, and she was beginning to worry, maybe she had changed her mind.
Maybe marriage wasn't for her after all.
So too afraid to crinkle her dress she stood, motionless in front of the mirror, feeling lost.

The chatter grew louder from behind the doors and a soft knock followed by her father's voice make her start back to reality. She needed to get going. She knew it, but something just wasn't right.
She sighed and turned away, heading for the small couch all but defeated when the small door to the left creaked open unexpectedly.
Her smile lit up the room as she walked in and straight up to Hermione, planting a kiss on her cheek and pulling her close.
Her own ruffled purple dress swaying with every movement she made. She wore a tiara of pearls and had a purple flower behind her ear. Her wild blonde hair flowing freely, like the part of her inside that could not be tamed. The part Hermione loved so much.
Realization dawned, "What are you doing here! You aren't meant to see me yet!"
Her big blue eyes sparkled with excitement that made Hermione feel even worse. She bowed her head only to have it gently raised by soft tender fingers.
"Don't be sad. Be glad. Nothing can keep me from you. I'll always be by your side! That's the most importan.. OH! I almost forgot! I brought you something."
She pulled off a small brown satchel and opened it, presenting hermione with a small tiara of her own.
She had made it herself, woven with a few scattered pearls and small white flowers.
She plucked the big white clip from Hermione's hair releasing all her curls from its tight grasp, and placed the tiara on her head.
She stepped back, clapped grabbed Hermione's hands.
"Lets go get married!" She excitedly exclaimed and just like that all those silly feelings disappeared and all Hermione let out a giggle.
"I love you so much Luna." She said as the doors opened before them, and so hand in hand they walked into the next chapter of their life together.
