Chapter One: I'm a Nobody
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha!
"Kagome! Hurry up or you'll be late for school!"
"Yes Mama!" Kagome Higurashi ran down the stairs and out the front door as fast as she could. She didn't want to be late again.
"Kagome, come on! Home room will start in less than five minutes." Sango Kashima, her best friend, yelled. "Mr. Mitsumoto will give us detention again."
"I know, I know" Kagome got on her bike and started toward her school. 'It doesn't matter if I'm late or not. I'm gonna get detention anyway,' she thought.
"Kagome, are you all right? You seem a little quiet."
"Oh it's nothing. I'm just tired is all. I stayed up to three o'clock this morning to finish my book report." She turned around to look at Sango. "Pedal harder. We have two minutes to get to school.
They finally reached home room at 7:59 a.m. One minute before class started.
"Phew!" said Sango. "We made it just in time."
"Miss Higurashi and Miss Kashima, where are your manners? There are skid marks outside our door and I heard from your cousin, Miss Higurashi, that you were the ones to make them. What do you have to say for it?" Mr. Mitsumoto asked.
"I'm going to kill Kikyo," said Kagome under her breath.
"Me too," Sango whispered back to her.
"You two will have detention," Mr. Mitsumoto continued, "tomorrow, from three to four. You should already know that you have it today too."
"Oh no!" Sango and Kagome said in unison.
In the back of the room, Inuyasha Sakima and Miroku Mitsumoto were sitting staring at Kagome and Sango.
"They're always getting into trouble for the stupidest things," said Miroku. "But both of them are so hot:
"Yeah," Inuyasha agreed, but he was too busy looking at Kagome to really notice what Miroku said.
"Hey Baby! What are you staring at?" Kikyo looked in the direction of Inuyasha's eyes.
"Uh...nothing babe!"
"Yo Inuyasha! You going to Nami's party?"
"Yea man! I heard Kani's going to beat Maki up!" Inuyasha looked towards Koga.
"I know. I think that's why everyone's going.' Koga glanced at Kikyo. "You're bringing her aren't you?"
"Dude, you know I have to."
"Hey! You don't have to. Anyway, I won't be able to go. I'm going to the States for the weekend."
'Oh yeah! I forgot about that. I guess that you won't get mad if I bring your cousin; she's not going to the States I recall." Koga looked towards Kagome. 'She doesn't look half bad."
Kikyo looked at Kagome. "Yuck! I hate her. You better not ask her out or I'm gonna kill you!" She stalked away.
Miroku, who was just staring at Sango, but was still listening to the conversation, glanced at Inuyasha. "Do you know why Kikyo hates her cousin so much?"
"Kikyo hates everyone man, except of course, me."
"Right," Miroku chuckled.
"Time for class! Everyone in their seat," Mr. Mitsumoto yelled.
"I'll talk to you later Miroku." Inuyasha sat in his seat and looked over at Kagome, who was twirling her hair around her finger. 'It's going to be long day,' he thought.
