Just a short little oneshot I came up with.

Disclaimer: I do not own NCIS, Bellisarius productions does.

Seventeen- year- old Ziva walked past the doorway of her sister's room.

"Ziva!" The eleven- year- old said.

"Yes?" Ziva asked going into the room.

"I memorized my poem for school!" The girl said.

"Read it to me." Ziva told her as she went to sit on the side of her sister's bed. She did.

"I can tell you the whole thing if you like!" The child said.

"I'll wait till you recite it at school." Ziva told her. Her sister smiled.

"Okay." She said.

"Ziva, how do you say big sister in Spanish?" The girl asked. She had been taking Spanish for a year now, but wanted her sister's advice on how to speak it correctly.

"I do not believe there is a way to say it." Ziva told her. Her sister smiled at her again.

"Buenos noches-" She stopped.

"What?" Ziva asked.

"How do you say 'I love you'?" She asked.

"Te quiero." Ziva replied. "If it is a lot, you say te quiero mucho." Ziva added, happy her language skills were coming in handy.

"Okay." The child said. "Buenos noches. Te quiero hermana." She replied. Ziva bent to give the girl and hug.

"Buenos noches. Te quiero mucho hermanita." Ziva replied.

"Ziva?" A male voice asked.

"Yes?" Ziva answered, her mind coming back to the present.

"I asked why you learned so many languages." He said.

"As a child of Mossad, I was expected too. Also, my mother, who loved languages told us, 'Yediat safa ahat eina maspika.'"

"What does that mean?" He asked.

"One language is never enough." Ziva replied.

hermana- sister

hermanita- little sister

buenos noches- good night

Oh, if there is a way to say big sister in Spanish, I would love to know!
