Before you read this, I suggest you put on Jar Of Hearts by Christina Perri in the background, or at least sing it in your head. It really sets the mood.

Caine huffs the last powerful breath of his speech. Diana, sitting in the corner of the stage knows what she must do. It's now or never, escape or live with the sadistic freak, regain peace or forever be his prisoner.

Diana gives Caine one of her mischevious smiles, beckoning him with her chin towards her. She leans her mouth up close to his ear, whispering, "Let's go somewhere where we can be alone." He seems joyed by the idea, and leads her away from Perdido Beach.

She doesn't pay attention to where Caine is taking her, Diana's mind won't stop racing. She understands the consequences if he flips out, which he most likley will, knowing the malevolent child. But death would certianly be better than staying with him, yes?

Caine drops her hand, and Diana takes in her surroundings. They are by the cliff, at the location of Mary's Big Jump. A thought comes to her mind, wouldn't it have been better if all of the children had died with her? It would be less whiny mouths to feed. But instantly, Diana regrets that, because every person counts. Even the small ones.

She bows her head and feels Caine walk up to her. At the top of her peripheral vision, she sees his lips about to kiss her temple. But Diana takes a feeble step back. She stumbles, "No."

Diana lifts her head to see Caine, a bit weary about what she just said. He keeps a straight face and becomes motionless, but she feels pressure wrap around her body. An invisible fist, not too tight, but enough to show the tenseness of Caine.

"No," she says again, louder this time. Diana notices her voice is shaking, and corrects herself. "No more." She gulps. "I don't want you anymore."

"Diana," Caine starts, but sees her backing up in defense. It takes Diana strength to do this one simple action, as the grip around her has tightened.

She knows the only way to win this battle is power. Her voice loudens. "Never again do I want you to kiss me. You know what, don't even touch me! I don't know how in this wacked up world I found the courage to love you, but I did! And all you do is abuse me!" Diana's voice lowers her voice so much that Caine can barley hear her. "And I don't love you anymore."

Caine looks like he's levitating with rage, fixing his posture trying to be more dominant. The disembodied hand squeezes around Diana so much she wants to scream out, to thrash and kick and fight. But she knows she can't. The game isn't over yet.

He is about to say something, but she cuts him off. "No!" she answers his thoughts. "Never again will I love you! I don't want to love the sick, deranged freak you are! Get away from me!" Diana sucks in the last breath she can get until the fist strangles her. She releases the breath saying, "And I knew you would never be a good father."

There. She did it. A force knocks her off her feet, causing Diana to soar through the air and land on the dead grass 15 meters away.

The last she sees of him is Caine fuming away into the distance. Diana watches him until she can no longer make out his figure.

She releases a deep breath. Diana did it.
