A/N: My first ever entry to celebrate NejiTen month! I'm so happy! :D I wrote this a century and a day ago, for very different characters and when I found it, I thought, WHY WAS THIS NEVER WRITTEN FOR NEJITEN? So voila, I rewrote it and I must say … I'm damn terrible. It's only a drabble because apparently people still enjoyed birthday celebrations. Huh. Opinions?
Happy NejiTen Month everyone!

The room was filled with silence. In that room sat Neji Hyuuga.
"You look beautiful, once again." He said. Tenten smiled.
"Thank you."
The wind howled lightly outside and Neji looked out of the window.
"Tenten.. I- " He began. "I love you." Neji decided not to face her.
"I love you too. That's why I'm never going to leave you, whether you like it or not." She teased him earning a small chuckle from the lavender eyed man. Tenten swung her legs out of the bed to vacate the chair right in front of Neji. Slowly, she lifted her soft small hands to caress Neji's face. Oh, how tired he looked. He watched her as she started to move forward to connect their foreheads together. Neji didn't touch her.
"Be with me, Neji. I'm tired f waiting." She whispered. He smiled lightly. She moved her head in attempt to give him a kiss but decided against it, moving back on the chair in front of him.
"Do you still remember?" She began. Neji took a few moments before replying.
"Yes, I do. You make it a point to remind me everyday, Tenten." At this, Tenten smiled bitterly. Neji moved his eyes from the window and stared at Tenten. They didn't touch each other, they didn't attempt to make a move, but they could clearly feel each other. Tenten wanted to hold him. Neji wanted to be one with her. She held a shaky breath.
"What would you do if one day I disappeared?" She recalled, a small smile evident on her lips.
"You said, 'I don't care.' We were fighting then." She added. Neji looked at her in the eye.
"I regret ever saying it. I would do anything, go anywhere, and never stop until I get you back."
Tenten smiled again, looking down on her lap.
"Would you really do it?" Silence.
"Yes."
The two looked at each other once again still refusing to touch each other. Tenten knew that she couldn't be with him any longer once the sun started to rise. Neji knew that she wasn't to be seen again until dark had completely covered the sky. They both knew that every moment was precious. They both knew that it broke Tenten's heart that they couldn't be together. Neji's was already shattered.
"I'm not going back on my promise, Tenten. I'm going to get you back."
Tears blurred her eyes and a bitter smiled made its way to her face. Her body was already starting to fade from his sight. The light was creeping quickly inside the bedroom. It was engulfing them both.
"Neji, don't forget!"
"I won't."
Tenten's cracked pained voice echoed through the room.
"Don't forget Neji. Don't forget. That was the promise you made the day I died."
Neji burst into tears, the sky joining him in a pained chorus of rain.
