In this scene, Charlie remembers an old fishing trip with his dad from his childhood

As the scene opens, young Charlie sits with his dad in a boat looking at the bay as Alan stares at the fish below. Frank (Charlie's father) takes a shot of wiskey.

Hey dad, Charlie asks. Yeah, son Frank replies. What's going on between you and mom? What do you mean, Frank replies. Well it's just that you guys have been fighting a lot, Charlie says. You guys ar'ent going to get a divorce, are you? Frank puts his shoulder around his son. Now look son, I love your mother I do. People fight and they make up. I understand dad I just don't want anything to happen to you guys, Charlie says. I know son, don't you worry about a thing, your mother and I will be just fine Frank says as he pats Charlie on the back and takes another shot of whiskey. Look guys, look at this big fish I caught with my hands Alan says filling up the silence. You knuckle head, that fish is'nt big at all Chalie says as lan puts the fish back in the bay and the three of them laugh. That's my boy Frank says continuing to laugh.
