The Bracelet

Chapter I

Once upon a time, there lived a little green monster.

His name was Henry. Every day he wandered around the forest, in hopes of finding some nuts and berries to eat. One day, while searching the forest, he met a fairy/pixie. Her name was Frusilla. Frusilla promised to give Henry three wishes if he could do this one tiny favor for her. Henry gladly agreed.

But what he didn't know was that this fairy, Frusilla was an evil pixie. She was on the run from the law after turning the prince into a cabbage and feeding him to his girlfriend, who had been turned into a rabbit the previous week.

Anyways, Henry accepted Frusilla's offer. Frusilla told henry to sneak into the royal palace, and steal a bracelet from the queen's jewelry box while she was sleeping. Now, Henry had a small amount of smarts in his noggin, so he knew that there was something fishy about this plan.

"But, why do you want the bracelet, Frusilla?" He asked her.

"Oh, because it's rightfully mine," Frusilla replied.

Henry agreed with Frusilla that a queen stealing a bracelet from a fairy was wrong and just plain mean. So Henry thought through the plan a bit more, when he came across the realization that the queen probably has many items of jewelry, especially bracelets, since she's the queen.

"How will I know which bracelet is yours, Frusilla?" The young monster asked.

"Oh, my dear Henry, do not fret! I can guarantee you that you'll know it when you see it. Just let me say, it is unlike the others," Frusilla replied.

Now, por Henry was quite confused, because, as you probably know, monsters (especially secondary color ones) are terrible at distinguishing items apart. So little Henry was going to have a tough time telling the bracelets apart, and he knew it.

That same night, at midnight, Henry headed over to the castle. He snuck in through the servant's door, and because he was so small, he ran within the walls of the castle, using the pathways the castle mice had created. He finally made it to the queen's chambers and opened her jewelry box.

Little Henry rummaged through it, but he couldn't tell which bracelet was unlike the others. Finally he decided on a copper bracelet, with small spikes of holographic metal around it.

As he was headed out the door, he caught a glimpse of something. He turned around and saw that the sleeping queen was wearing a commoners bracelet, made of peasants usual wool string, and it had one simple bead on it. He knew right then and there that this was the bracelet Frusilla was talking about.

He used the drapes on the window to climb up to the queen's bed, and jumped onto her pillow, barely missing the queen's head. Henry slid down to where her wrist was positioned, and ever so carefully, slipped it off the queen.

The drowsy queen knew something was wrong, and started feeling her wrist in her sleep. A panicked Henry dropped the fancy copper and metal bracelet that he had draped around his neck, and the queen grabbed that.

The queen immediately poked herself on the spiky spikes, and woke up. Henry froze, suddenly wishing he were a light blue monster, so he could blend in with the queens pillows.

The queen turned and let out a startled gasp when she saw the small fuzzy monster standing there, holding her bracelet, and an ordinary one, of all things. She lit the candle next to her bed stand to get a closer look at the curious creature.
