Just a little one-shot idea that popped into my head, and I just had to get it down. Enjoy!

"Two years on and you're still as corrupted as ever," a wearied voice spat from behind him. Sharply turning to face the visitor, Loki smiled, as if greeting an old friend.

"Mr Stark," he welcomed icily, "it's good to see you again." Stark, who was chained, cuffed and held by two Chitauri guards, regarded Loki with contempt-filled eyes. This strangely entertained Loki, as he remembered how the situation was very different a couple years back. "How's life?" he asked amusedly, taking a step toward the used-to-be billionaire.

"Under your rule? Terrible, horrific and very impractical. How about you?"

"Oh, it's just great, thanks. I have power unimaginable. But then again, so did you once," he taunted, circling Stark like a predator its prey. "How does it feel to finally know your purpose, and to achieve it? Accomplished? Fulfilled?"

"No-one was made to be ruled," he quickly countered, hating the way Loki acted so superior. Tony knew how his evil mind worked, or at least he thought he did. The god before him just laughed.

"I beg to differ. Even you, a genius engineer who made himself a 'hero', has been defeated. Isn't that what mortals do? You bow down to people like me – gods. Just feel lucky I spared you, Stark. The only reason I did was because I find the irony quite laughable." With a wave of his hand, the Chitauri guards dragged the helpless hero away before he could interject.

Loki sighed to himself and turned back around to face his kingdom, content with it. Or was he? The entire population of Midgard was his to command after the falling of those petty Avengers idiots. Once they'd been eradicated, the humans could only watch as their realm was conquered. He remembered his day of victory well, the sky was ablaze and pathetic screams of terror filled the air. Stupid mortals, Loki thought distastefully, ruining a perfect scene with their useless attempts to escape.

Ideally, the process of invasion would've run through quite smoothly; no bloody battles, just acceptance. Sadly, the Avengers made that impossible, so Loki had to do things the hard way. And it wasn't just that ragtag team of imbeciles who were defiant; a few others were too; just a couple of humans here and there. They were imprisoned for Loki's amusement instead of being killed on the spot. Sometimes, when he got bored, Loki would pay them a visit to torment them. How he loves the way they retaliate so pitifully! Snide remarks, insolent insults, the occasional attempt to claw at him, they were all acts of rebellion that failed so miserably!

Loki smiled to himself. He'd gotten what he wanted, now what to do with it? It had been two years since Earth's great collapse, and what had he done since then but exercise his new power? An irritating thought crossed his mind as he reflected. No, Loki didn't feel… incomplete, did he? Without anyone to vanquish, surely all would be well - except he couldn't shake the feeling that he was now fully accomplished, and so early on. Maybe he was just an over-achiever, and this feeling was not uncommon amongst geniuses such as himself. Was this how the people of Midgard felt now they were subjugated and ready to serve? Was this, endeavoured Loki, why a select few of them persisted to defy him?

It made Loki shudder to even think of comparing himself to the humans, so he refused to continue on with that train of thought. Sighing contentedly once again, he sat back, and relished in all his power.

Aw, what a wonderful person! Heheh. Review? Thanks :]
