So we all know that Kurt is leaving Dalton (Kurt Elizabeth Hummel is back, bitches! Y'all better watch out!). But what we don't know is how Kurt's amazingly gorgeous and sweet boyfriend Blaine reacts to the news. Well, I heard that "Born This Way" is going to have a scene depicting just that. So I decided that I wanted to write my own interpertation of how it should go down before the episode premieres and shows me how wrong I am.
Just do it, Kurt, I told myself. "Blaine?" I said tentatively, turning to the boy who had only recently become my boyfriend.
"Yeah?"
"Remember how - at the Night of Neglect - you said that I missed my friends in New Directions?"
"Yeah?" He sounded confused as to why I was bringing it up.
"Well, I do. A lot."
"Okay... Is this going somewhere, Kurt?"
"Yes. Well, like I said, I miss them. So I talked to my dad and Carole and..." Here I paused, not wanting to say it. "I'm leaving Dalton and going back to McKinley."
He looked shocked and taken aback. "What? But... that Karofsky guy is still there. He's still going to torture you, you know that, right?"
"Yeah, but I'm stronger now and Karofsky doesn't scare me anymore. I belong at McKinley, Blaine, with Finn and Mercedes and everyone else."
"No, you belong here. With me," he said adamantly, as if nothing I said was going to change his mind.
"What the hell is your problem, Blaine?"
"I just don't see why you would want to go back to..." His face lit up with realization. "Nationals."
"What about them?"
"That's why you're going back to McKinley. You want to go to Nationals and the only way you can is if you rejoin New Directions."
My jaw literally dropped. "What? Blaine, that... that's just crazy! Why would you even think that? You know I don't really care about that. I told you that," I said, shocked he would even come to that conclusion.
"Yeah, I know," he said softly, looking down at his lap.
"Hey." He looked at me. "What's really going on?" I knew Blaine well enough to know when he was hiding something.
"I don't want you to leave," he said so softly it might as well have been his thoughts.
"You want me to stay at Dalton?"
"No. I want you to stay with me."
I had to hold back a laugh. "Is that what this is about?" I put my hands on his shoulders. "Listen to me. I worked too long and too hard to make you mine. And I'm not about to throw all that hard work away just because I'm going to go to another school. Okay?"
"Okay." But I could see the tears welling in his eyes, so I wiped them away and pulled him to his feet.
"Come on. I'll buy you a coffee." As we walked away hand in hand, I said, "And, hey, who knows? Maybe you'll come to McKinley next year. New Directions could use a voice like yours." He laughed and I soon joined in.
So how was that? I wrote it in, like, five minutes so I'm sure it sucks haha. I tried to make it sound like something that would actually be on the show. Did I succeed? Could you picture Chris Colfer and Darren Criss actually acting this out? And I stayed true to what I read online about this scene - 1) they don't kiss (WTF is up with that, by the way? If my boyfriend was leaving, I wouldn't want to stop kissing him haha). And 2) Blaine tears up/cries when Kurt leaves (How cute is that?)
