The Warden's Diary
Okay, gonna start by saying I have no clue how good this is going to be, it's my first time even attempting to write anything taking place in Superjail, so...here goes nothing.
What I want to do here is write a little thing involving the Warden's past. It's been a while since I've seen the show and I've been taking a daily refresher course knowing Adult Swim has all the episodes online. I have not seen most of season 3 or 4 so there's a chance I might make a mistake but this is a mostly head canon story anyway. Oh, and please excuse the more normal than should be OC please, it's just a tool to move the story along.
Enough of my rambling, on to the story.
I do not own Superjail and make no profit from this…so no suing…you won't get anything anyway. I'm flat broke.
"Why does this place have to be so big?" I groaned as I made my way down the hall. I ended up in Superjail due to a case a mistaken identity (and somehow gender since this appears to be a prison for men, I'm doomed). I don't blame Jailbot for doing his job and the real criminal was caught last week. For some reason I still can't leave and had been made the mail girl. Rather unwillingly at that. Well, it could be worse.
Finally, I found my destination, the Warden's room. Normally, mil would be delivered to his office but…'I wonder if he's figured out I'm trying to avoid him yet.'
Letting myself in, I drop a small stack of envelopes and a box on his dresser and was about to leave when something caught my eye. A book.
It was small and didn't look out-of-place, but it somehow grabbed my attention. Weird. I know that I probably shouldn't, but I picked it up and saw that the cover read, "My Diary." My eyes widened in slight surprise. The Warden keeps a diary? Now I know I really shouldn't. Curiosity won me over and I opened to the first page. I laughed to see the scribbles of a purple crayon. Finding the date I realized the Warden was just a kid when writing this entry. It was messy with misspellings and words kept alternating between lowercase and capital letters with some letters missing in a few, but I could just make out what was written. I can't imagine a small child would have much to write about.
Like I thought, it was all kid stuff until I got halfway down the page,
"I miss my mother, maybe Father wouldn't be so grumpy if she were here. I think he's just sad that she's gone. He yells a lot and only pays attention to the jail. He's still great and I want to be just like him."
He grew up without a mother? That's….really sad, actually. I was tempted to read more until I heard the handle to the room's door turning. I almost dropped the book with a panicked flail before quickly closing it and almost slamming it back to its place on the dresser. I then turned to the door as The Warden stepped in and stared at me for a second, obviously not expecting anyone to be in his room of all places.
'Crap crap, say something!' My mind screamed and with a huge intake of breath before Warden had the chance to utter a word, "Justdroppingoffyourmailsothereitisjobdonestillmoretodokaythanksbye!"
And I ran out like a bullet fired from a gun.
Alright, chapter one done. Not much yet. Before anyone asks, no, there is no romance between my OC and the Warden. At all. She'd rather get out of Superjail ASAP if possible. She has no attraction towards him and he has none towards her. She's just his mail girl.
Well, guess we'll see how this goes.
