Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, Harry, Hermione, the owlery, or anything else (I don't need to go into tiny detail, do I?).
So here's a Harry/Hermione! It's kind of weird I guess, but then again, I always think that... Anyway, here it is!
Hermione hurried down the dormitory stairs to the common room, still wearing her nightgown. "Harry?" she whispered the moment she reached the common room. "Have you got it?"
Harry was waiting for her, his hand clasped over a letter. "Yeah. Let's go before someone wakes up. 5am isn't that early for some people."
Hermione giggled quietly and nodded. "Okay. We'll go. Are you sure you want to send it?"
Harry didn't answer until he and Hermione had slipped out of the portrait hole. Then, rolling his eyes, he said exasperatingly, "Hermione, it was your idea to write Lupin."
Hermione bit her lip and looked away. "I know, I know, Harry. But don't you worry that the Ministry will intercept it and not like it or something? Then we're in big trouble, and Lupin probably would be, too."
Harry slid his arm around Hermione's shoulders. "Hermione, you worry too much. I know we have to be careful, but we have been. So relax. It'll work out okay. And if it doesn't, then we can fix it."
"But what if we can't fix-"
"Hermione," Harry interrupted her, "nothing's going to happen. Calm down."
There was a silence. It was quite peaceful, walking across the castle as the sun began to rise. When they reached the owlery door, they froze as they heard voices coming from it.
"I told you it wasn't safe," Hermione hissed as they heard a loud shuffling sound and what sounded like a voice. "We can't go in. We have to go back."
But Harry only pulled Hermione into the shadows. "Wait. We can go when they leave."
Yet ten minutes went by and nobody left. The path to the owlery was outside and Hermione began to shake as she grew colder. Finally, Harry glanced at his watch and said, "It's 6am. We can be awake now. Let's go."
And though Hermione was trying to pull him back, he pushed open the owlery door. To their surprise, it was completely empty. "The owls!" Hermiome exclaimed after a moment, giggling. "They made that shuffling noise. Oh, Harry, we're so stupid!"
Harry began to laugh, too, and, after mailing the letter - with no trouble from the owls - they set off to breakfast, Harry's arm still tucked around Hermione's shoulders.
Did you like it? I hope so! Please review! I love reviews! They make me happy! =)
