Sam's POV
Sigh. Rainy, Rainy Seattle. Why did you have to rain today? Deep in thought I stared out the window Carly's apartment. Eye's slowly closing. Unable to finish my half eaten Ham joint. I gave myself in to deep sleep.
I woke on the floor in the most hideous dress I have seen. Ever. "Hello?"
"What are you doing here? You should be in the hall!" I followed the direction of the voice. It was Carly. In a wedding dress? "Have you been at those spicy ribs again?
"What? Spicy ribs? Why are you in a wedding dress?" I asked confused
"Have you hit your head or something? You're at my wedding! How can you forget?" Carly said ruffling her dress.
"Wedding. Who you marrying?"
"Freddie, I love him so much, now we are finally getting married" Carly said, spinning around. As if she was dancing.
"What!" I felt hurt. Like my insides were tearing apart. Eye's welling up. Freddie entered this room.
"Baby," Freddie kissed Carly. Very intimately "What are you doing in here?"
After I saw the kiss I felt sick. I bolted for the door. Needing alone time. I ran through this place of empty hallways and stairs until I found the roof. I found the perfect spot to sit. I stared out to the view for a couple of short minuets and eventually started to sob into my knees.
It felt like forever that I watched the musky twilight turn into pitch-blackness. How can my best friends go and get married and not tell me. I blamed myself for all this trouble I have gotten myself into tonight. I thought of all the times when Freddie and me have actually gotten along. All I could think of was that kiss. I smiled. I can still feel the desperation nagging on me, to do it again. I can still feel where he hung onto my lip. And where our lips touched.
I heard hesitant footsteps behind me, he sat beside me. "You know that could have been you down there enjoying this day instead of Carly" .
"Yeah right" I snorted at him I got up and started to walk away but something stopped me. Freddie was holding my wrist. He pulled me closer to him and lightly kissed me. On the lips!
"I loved you," he whispered in my hair. "Ever since the kiss I was waiting, but you never came around to ask me. That's when I thought you were not interested so I married Carly. You know when they say that people pick on people they like them. That should have been us." He kissed my forehead then walked away. I regretted having this dream in the first place.
Everything turned black and I couldn't breathe. Next thing I knew i was lying on Carly's couch with Freddie sat beside me.
"Sam, Sam!" I heard screaming into my ear. Freddie. I smiled. "Bad dream?" he smiled at me, I have never realised how cute he looked when he smiled. I smiled back. "Wow you must have been tired you left your half eaten ham" I sat up on the sofa. Then I lightly kissed his dimples.
"I just had the weirdest dream, and it's made me think about our relationship… I kind of like you... alot"
And we both leaned in and shared our second kiss.
