I am stuck at the edge of the crippling darkness

The voices pull me closer as I pull away

They tell me stories

About the queens and kings of Olympus

Of the great sky

They are bitter and speak of infinite shadow

Of their eternal rule

Sometimes I try to ignore it

I try not to believe the words

But they know what to say

To twist my brain inside-out

And back again

They speak of the heroes

Jason, Heracles, Perseus, Achilles

And even Percy Jackson

And tell me how

They died a cruel and gory death at the end of their days

I have heard the countless defeats of the gods

In the tales they tell of horrible times of history

To them, the Olympians are merciless fools

They say "Child of dreams"

"You know what we speak of is true"

"You want them to fall. To crumble"

They are persuasive

They know my weaknesses

They understand my pain

But the monsters of the deep are ruthless

Titans, giants, creatures, prisoners of hell

I can not listen any longer

I join the voices of the crippling darkness

And plunge into the deep
