Written for a Taisuke challenge I received from Wind. The prompt was "sharing an umbrella." And of course Digimon isn't mine, but we knew that already right?
Daisuke groaned and sighed dejectedly at the prospect of walking through a storm. He had decided to surprise his idol with a visit and had walked all the way over to the older boy's apartment only to find that Taichi wasn't home. Now the sky, which had been cloudy, but relatively quiet all day, was making things worse by literally raining on his parade.
"Just great, now I'm probably going to catch pneumonia and die without even getting to yell at Taichi-senpai for not being here." the redhead whined as he stepped from said brunette's apartment building out into the downpour. He shivered as the cold droplets of water ran down his body, soaking his clothes and painting him the very picture of misery.
Deciding to swallow his pride and catch the bus, he headed towards the nearest stop only to see the blasted thing driving away ahead of him.
"Damnit!" Daisuke swore loudly, not seeing how this could possibly get any worse. That is, until a moment later when a passing car splashed him with a giant wave, drenching what little of him still remained dry.
"Daisuke?" a concerned voice asked from behind. The redhead whipped around and was greeted with a very welcome sight.
Taichi stood not five feet away, grocery bag in one hand, a giant blue umbrella in the other. "What are you doing out here?"
Pouting, Daisuke crossed his arms and looked away, annoyed that Taichi decided to show up after the world had been horribly mean to him. "I came to visit you, but you weren't home and then all this went and happened." he explained, gesturing to his wet clothes.
Taichi chuckled and sheltered the smaller boy underneath his umbrella. "Well, I'm here now, so let's go back to my place. I think I know how to warm you up." he assured with his usual grin. He wrapped an arm around the redhead and pulled him in close.
Blushing at the implications, Daisuke nodded nervously and huddled into the brunette's warmth, wondering just what exactly Taichi had in mind.
I think we all know exactly what Taichi has in mind. For those who were wondering about the prompt, sharing an umbrella is considered an intimate "couple thing" in Japan. Now lets all be good boys and girls and review!
