So I was up late watching Megamind last night. X) It's such a cute movie!
Anywho, this idea stuck out to me. :)
Miserably, Megamind gazed at the television screen, engrossed in the image of Roxanne Ritchie as she gave her evening news report.
"And have just one thing to say to Megamind," she stated, her tone rising with anger. "Are you happy now?"
Megamind leaned back in his chair, his face distorting with grief.
No. He was far from happy.
With a deep sigh, he spun his chair around and turned to face the window which overlooked the city.
What was wrong with him? He finally had everything he had ever wanted: to be rid of Metroman, and to be evil overlord of Metrocity!
So why did he feel like none of it mattered? Why was he filled with so much regret? He didn't know what he wanted anymore. Everything seemed meaningless.
As he gazed into the distance, he saw the giant statue of Metroman himself, which had been set up the very same day Megamind had destroyed him. The smiling image seemed to mock him, as if Metroman would forever be happy in Megamind's despair.
That was it. That thing had to go.
With a great effort, he lifted himself from the chair and sauntered from the room. The Brainbots had to be around here somewhere. Besides, Megamind figured it would be too much of a hassle to wake Minion.
At last he found them, and quickly gave them their instructions, after which he tried to go to bed, but found that he couldn't. Neither could he return to his chair.
He had to face Metroman. He had to apologize, even though Metroman would never truly hear him.
Hastily, Megamind grabbed the bouquet of fresh, yellow daffodils sitting in a vase on the table—Minion always tried to keep up that homey feel—and, still in his pajamas, made his way to the Metroman Museum.
