Regrets

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, or Sasuke, or Shino, or Choji, or Shika, sigh or Kakashi, or any of the delicious, drool worthy boys of Naruto. They belong to Masashi Kishimoto for some reason. Apparently, owning all the girls on the show wasn't enough for him; he just had to have all the guys, too…

"Oh, God, what've I done?!" he whispered, sitting with his head in his hands in the empty Uchiha Compound.

He finally regretted it. He'd killed his family; Sasuke was dead. Now he was too old to have children.

He was alone.

Even the Akatsuki had abandoned him, calling him too evil. They all left but one; the annoying one: Tobi.

"What's wrong, Itachi?" he asked.

"I killed everyone…"

"I thought you knew that before you did it…?"

"I did, but I guess it's just now sinking in…"

"Itachi, it's been 15 years since then…"

"So it's too late?"

"Yes, the zebra cannot do away with its stripes, unfortunately."

"…"

The next day, the Sixth Hokage received a letter informing him of the deletion of the Uchiha Clan from history.

He looked over at a picture on his desk, nearly covered by paperwork; the one of his team when it was still together.

"Sorry, teme, I know how much you wanted your family to be revived…"

End

A/N: Well that was an anti-climactic little ending now wasn't it. Lol. I wrote this in the last ten minutes of study hall today, so it was never meant to be huge or anything. Tobi's last little line is actually an African proverb:

"The zebra cannot do away with its stripes." –The Masai Tribe

I was torn between that one and this one:

"Rain beats a leopard's skin, but it does not wash out the spots." –The Ashanti Tribe

Those two proverbs are what inspired this little ficlet. :D Now onward to homework! DX
