Quick, incredibly short one-shot.

This was it. This was the end to all ends. There would be no more coming back, Jack understood that. But he wasn't afraid, he wasn't scared. He was going to face death with a smile on his face, even if it was forced. After all, he had lived more lives than he ever deserved. But he could finally die, and rest in peace like a part of him always wanted to.

Taking a deep breath, he looked down at the small mechanical device in his hands. One little button, one little push, would save the Earth but end Jack Harkness. The way it was meant to be.

"Here we go.." He whispered, and raised his thumb. In the split millisecond it took to lower his thumb, two things happened.

First off, where there used to be just a black inferno into nothingness now stood three familiar people.

Owen and Tosh, whom, through death, had finally found each other. They held onto each other, smiling at him.

And Gwen, lovely, perfect Gwen. As she should have been. Young with eyes full of happiness and love, not bitterness and regret.

And then suddenly, in that split second, the briefest of all seconds, he felt familiar arms wrap around him. Soft, warm breath on his neck. Comforting lips.

His team wasn't going to let him go alone.

He closed his eyes.

The button was pushed.

There was darkness.

The arms never left his waist.

Even in death, Jack was not alone.
