The Doctor, loving her completely with both his hearts and soul thought she was beautiful. Incredibly like her mother she had bouncing blond curles, big brown eyes, and an attitude to contest even Rivers. Donna had been right all those years ago, the part of his hearts that loved his children wasent gone, it was simply broken, and with every day she helped repare it.

She bounced up to him, bare feet skidding slightly on the slippery TARDIS floor, and tugged his sleeve. "Daddy, teach me how to fly?"

"Teach you to fly? What? Like this?" The Doctor picked her up and set her on his shoulders. "Hold your arms out!" he comanded. Gripping her legs tightly to prevent her from falling he ran around the TARDIS consul, making airplane noises all the while.

She squeeled and laughed. "No! The TARDIS! The TARDIS!"

"Oh! The TARDIS! Well that's a little more complicated." He crouched down so she could slip off his shoulders, her feet hit the floor with a soft thump and he straightened up. "What do you want to know little one?"

"Whats this thing?" she asked, standing on her tiptoes to point to a lever tward the back. The Doctor picked her back up and tucked her against his side where she wrapped her arms around his neck and clung like a monkey.

"Those are the blue thingies," he informed her, completely serious. She nodded and pointed to a button. "What about that one?"

Behind them River leaned against a doorway, quietly watching with a smile on her face. She knew her daughter had the same instinctual knowledge of the TARDIS that she herself had, she just liked spending the time with him so she pretended otherwise. River gave them their moment, content to watch them.

Soon though River noticed her showing signs of sleepiness. She set her head on the Doctors shoulder and yawned, one small hand coming up to rub her eyes. The Doctor noticed to and smilied that smile River loved so much, the one that radiated love. His eyes scrunched up with the smile and he tucked his head down to kiss their childs head. He noticed River out of the corner of his eye and turned to her, "Bed time right?"

Immediately the child's head lifted and she squirmed to be let down. Once on the ground again she grabbed her fathers sleeve, attempting to drag him away. "Story time first!" she demanded.

The Doctor grinned and pretended to stumble as she pulled him down the familiar maze of halls to her bedroom, River not far behind them. Once there he tucked her snugly into bed, kneeled down on the floor beside her pillow, and began to tell her stories. He told her of galaxies, stars, and forgotten worlds, promising to take her to see each one when she was older. River sat pearched on the edge of the bed, gently stroking the child's hair. Soon she was fast asleep.

River stood up and stretched. "Coming to bed sweetie?" she yawned.

The Doctor took her place on the edge of the bed, a strange look on his face. "Yeah, just give me a moment," he replied. He reached out to where the child's hand lay on the blanket and placed his hand over her small one. She shifted in her sleep, snuggling into the pillows.

The Doctor smilied, his face showing his love once again. The man who had stopped wars and killed many was completely helpless when it came to this small creature. River would sometimes catch him looking at her with this expression of such wonder, like he couldn't believe something so fantastic could exist.

River crossed to the door and flipped off the light. A special nightlight filled the room with a million stars, slowly making their way across the ceiling and walls and outlining the Doctor and the child in hues of purple and blue. She backed out of the room, leaving him to marvel at his great little miracle.
