Hermione Granger sat in her room at Number Twelve Grimmauld Place feeling very restless, wishing she hadn't already finished her summer assignments. Life at Grimmauld Place was very dull and slow-paced, even for a book-worm such as herself. Oh how she wished she could go off on a carefree and safe adventure with Harry and Ron. Tap! Tap! Tap! The noise is coming from outside her window, she walked over and saw that Hedwig had a letter for her. Hermione let Hedwig in, got the letter from her, and watched as Hedwig flew off to go see Harry and get some rest. She headed over to her bed and ripped the letter open it read:
'Dearest Hermione, We hope you are enjoying your summer holidays and are having fun with Ron and Harry. Your dad and I are having some fun of our own, last night we went to the County Fair with Mrs. Browne-our wonderful dental hygienist- and her darling little granddaughter Daisy. This brought back so many fond memories of taking you to the fair when you were Daisy's age- remember riding the carousel and eating cotton candy the size of our heads'?We had some good times together sweetheart and we want to make sure that we keep in touch with you so that we don't miss out on each other's lives. Please write to us often about what you're up to and enjoy the rest of your summer holidays. Have a safe trip back to school and know that we are so proud of you and what you will do this year! All our love, Mum and Dad.'
Hermione put down the letter and smiled to herself, remembering all the fun she used to have at the fair. She would write to her parents later, first she had to find a way to get Harry, Ron, and herself to the fair. The fair would be the perfect way to spend the evening having fun and would be safe, she doubted that You-Know-You or his followers would be hanging out at a muggle event. It would be perfect seeing as neither of her two best friends had ever been to one. Ron because all of his family are witches and wizards, and Harry because his relatives dislike him and would never take him somewhere fun. Yes the fair was the perfect plan, but she wouldn't tell Harry and Ron until after she got it cleared by her guardians for the summer, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. That would be hard considering how protective Mrs. Weasley was of Harry, but it needed to be done. Not wanting to waste any time, she stood up, wished herself luck, and walked out into the hallway to find Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.
