A/N: Set in the beginning of season 4. Post rising of the witnesses and talking to Castiel about Lucifer's cage.

Inspired by a writing challenge prompt.

The lingering looks from Sam and Bobby were starting to get on Dean's nerve a bit but if he was honest with himself; Dean couldn't blame them. After four months of being dead and then popping up in Illinois, back from hell only to find out that a freakin' Angel dragged him out because "God willed it". The icing on the cake was finding out from said Angel that Lilith was trying to break sixty six seals to free Lucifer, daddy to the demons.

That wasn't what the looks were about, no matter how much Dean wished they were because to him, the important things at the moment are to try and not let the Devil walk the earth. Not his memories from hell, or him "not remembering anything".

Of course Dean remembered hell. It was hard not to forget. Being tortured, being the one to torture, it was mind numbing and he didn't want to talk about it. That's how he deals with crap. Not talking about it. Just because it haunts him when the sun is down and he needs shut eye, doesn't mean it should haunt him while he's doing his job—saving people.

The family business.

For what it's worth, being a hellhound's bitch was much better to remember than actual Hell itself. Dean chuckles at the thought, because it sounds ridiculous, really, someone preferring to remember their dying moments being ripped apart. Then again, most people don't go to hell, apparently they go cloud hopping in heaven with harps, halos and the entire heavenly package.

"Then again they didn't sell their soul," the words come out of Dean's mouth before he could stop himself. Thankfully, it didn't wake Sam up, his brother only shifted a bit in his sleep on Bobby's couch.

Rolling over on the floor, Dean turned his back from Bobby's desk and faced the kitchen seat, where he and Castiel were talking just the night before. Closing his eyes the eldest Winchester wondered if it would be Demons, Hellhounds, torture or, if he's lucky, fishing tonight.

"But when am I ever lucky?"

A/N: First time uploading Supernatural on fanfiction, mostly on my tumblr writing blog. I may end up uploading those on here, not sure yet.

Hope you enjoyed!
