The hall was crowded and smokey. Harry stood on the edge of the dance
floor, scanning the crowd. He was late, as always. In the few months that
they had been seeing each other, he had not been on time for anything.
Harry smiled to himself *But I still put up with it.*
A slow beat began to pulsate through the room, couples began to move onto the cramped space they called a dance floor. A voice joined with the beat and Harry found himself listening to the words that were swimming around him.
"See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
And I wait for you"
They made him think of him. His boy. Harry loved the way his eyes looked. Like deep dark rain clouds, like a storm had just set in them. He loved the way they would just stare at each other after they had made love. His eyes were a storm coloured stones, but not cold or cruel. There was so much life behind those eyes, that Harry could see a million stars in them. He had a cool calmness which shone through and ignited a fire deep within Harry's soul. He had never felt this way about anyone or anything before in his life.
"Slight if hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait, without you"
A twist of fate. Harry laughed. Fate had certainly intervened with them. A mere chance meeting, a sly glance, a look of feeling, emotion and understanding held between them. Harry knew that he was in love with him the first time they had shared their first kiss. It was warm, passionate, sweet and, well, right. It had felt right. They had fit perfectly together.
At the last line, Harry shifted in annoyance.
*Yes I will wait for you, forever.* He thought *But I'm not waiting in this place.*
Harry looked up and as if on cue, he came walking through the crowd towards him. People parted to let him through. All eyes were turned to look at him, at this beautiful boy. The light bounced brightly off his hair. It was him. His blonde Angel. He gracefully and casually strolled up to Harry holding a delicate rose. Harry lifted the flower to his nose and inhaled the sweet scent. He smiled.
"I thought you weren't going to come." His eyes met the stormy gray ones.
"You think I'm not going to do a lot of things" Draco smiled a lopsided grin. He held his hand out to Harry
"Dance with me."
Draco led Harry out onto the dance floor. Harry draped his arms around his lovers neck while Draco circled hiss arms around his waist.
"With or Without you
With or Without you ohh-oh
I can't live, With or Without you"
"You know something" Harry whispered into Draco's ear. "This song makes me think of us."
"Why's that?"
"Because we argue, we fight like cat and dog, we duel. But then we make up, we kiss and we fuck. And it's all okay again. And when it is okay, I feel normal. When it isn't I feel that there is a gaping in my stomach that can't be filled. It's like half of my body is missing when your gone. I can't live, with or without you." Harry stared into Draco's eyes, which reflected an expression of confusion and wonder. Draco just stared straight back at Harry
"I know what you mean."
He leaned forward and kissed him, gently and passionately. When they pulled apart, Harry felt as though he had been kissed by the gods themselves.
"I love you Harry."
"I love you."
He lent his chin against Draco's shoulder as they gently swayed to the song which told the story of their lives.
