Part One

"Hurry up, we can't lose him!" Hun barked at his men as they continued to chase Leonardo, the oldest of the mutant turtle family.

I've got to keep running, Leonardo thought to himself, If those Purple Dragons catch me, I'm doomed!

For once in his life, Leo wished his brother Raphael were with him. Or his second brother Donatello, or Leo would even be happy to see his youngest brother, the family pest Michelangelo. Just someone, someone to help him, so he wouldn't be running alone.

But Leo was running alone, and he was about to be caught, too. Yet he didn't think he could run much longer. He had a stitch in his side from being chased all morning, he had various cuts, bruises, and scratches all along his arms and legs, his chest was throbbing, his head pounding, and he could hear the blood pounding in his ears.

Maybe if I try to fight again, he thought to himself, but he knew it wouldn't help. He'd tried to fight several times, but with little success. But it didn't matter to him, he just couldn't keep running.

Leo turned and stopped, drawing both his katanas, only to be nearly knocked off the roof he'd been running on by Hun, his swords flying out of his green hands.

Leonardo sat up and pulled himself into a kneeling position, only to look up and see Hun holding both of his katanas in his giant hands.

Hun grinned maliciously down at Leo before snapping the two swords in half as though they were toothpicks.

"My katanas!" Leo rasped, reaching out for his beloved, handmade swords as despite the fact that it was futile.

Hun was still grinning as he threw the four, now useless, pieces of metal worthlessly to the ground.

Despite the fact that he had barely any strength left, Leo leapt nimbly to his feet and ran at Hun, but was shoved mercilessly to the ground again, banging his head on the cement rooftop.

Leonardo's breathing came in ragged gasps as he lay, immobile and spread-eagle on the roof as the gangbangers closed in on him. Leo slowly closed his eyes, losing all will to do anything but fall into gentle unconsciousness.

"LEAVE THAT POOR CREATURE ALONE, HUN!"

An enraged female voice partially snapped Leo out of his daze. Leonardo was still only semi-conscious, but he weakly turned his head to see who had shouted.

But he immediately felt his cheeks go pink as he found himself staring at a (very pretty) human girl.

She didn't look very old, she didn't seem a day over fifteen, but (to Leo, anyway) she was quite the looker. She had extremely long, nearly waist length, golden-blonde hair, and wore a black halter top with hot pink butterflies printed on it, hot pink gloves, a black scarf, jean short-shorts, and she had a pair of black goggles with hot pink tinted lens perched on her head. Leo also noted that she had the most beautiful pair of black eyes he had ever seen.

Hun stared at her coldly.

"What did you say, Onyxa?" he asked with brutal harshness.

So the girl's name is Onyxa, Leo thought, what a pretty name.

But then the girl said something that made Leo's blood run cold.

"You heard me," she snapped angrily, "I said leave him alone, older cousin."

The girl strode heatedly forward before stopping in front of Leo, between him and his would-be captors, arms stretched wide to protect Leo.

Why would Hun's younger cousin, Leo wondered dimly to himself, want to protect me?

But that was the last thing Leo thought as he passed out cold.
