DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything you recognize. The characters belong to J.K.Rowling, the song to Jessica Andrews. The only thing I own is the plot.

A/N: This randomly came to me. I LOVE THIS SONG! A lot of this is personal, so I apologize for anything that doesn't seem to make sense.

DEDICATED: This story is dedicated to my best friend who's practically my brother, Topher, for having been there for me through so much. I love you! And true to form, I've been there for you.

He'd always been there. Always ready to comfort her, to reassure her. Through her struggles with her parents, with her abusive boyfriend, he was there. They were friends. Best friends, in the most platonic sense of the word.

When I lost faith, you believed in me.
When I stumbled, you were right there.
For every act of love you've done, I owe you one.

He'd helped her through so much. He'd prevented her from killing herself; he'd convinced her to get counseling. He'd been her savior. Without him, she would have given up long before.

There were hard times.
I know I survived just because you stayed by my side.
With all I have, with all I am, I promise you all my life.

On her way toward recovery, she realized just how much she'd relied on him for support, for guidance. She felt guilty, she'd dumped on him, and he'd always accepted her problems, listened to her woes. And rarely had she ever found time to listen to him.

Whenever the road is too long,
Whenever the wind is too strong,
Wherever this journey may lead to,
I will be there for you.
Oh, I will be there for you.

She knew she could rely on him for everything. Anything she needed, be it a hug, a reassurance, love, he'd provide it. He was never more than a phone call away, more than willing to make time for her in his life. Throughout everything, he'd been there for her. And now it was time to return the favor.

Through sorrow,
On the darkest night,
When there's heartache deep down inside,
Just like a prayer,
You will be there,
And I promise you all my life.

She knew she needed to be there for him, make the relationship more mutual. But no drastic, life changing event happened to him. But still, she waited. Not that she wanted harm to befall him, but waited because she was anxious to show him how much she loved him. She'd wait as long as she needed to.

Whenever the road is too long,
Whenever the wind is too strong,
Wherever this journey may lead to,
I will be there for you.
Oh, I will be there...

She continued to cry on his shoulder, but she still wished that he could be the one crying on her shoulder. Years passed, and she still continued to wait for her opportunity. She was married, finally, to a loving man. And he, he was married to a caring wife. They were still there for each other.

Whenever the road is too long,
Whenever the wind is too strong,
Wherever this journey may lead to,
I will be there for you.
Oh yes, I will be there for you.

They would always be there for each other, always until forever. That was what they had sworn in their vows.

I'll always be there.

A/N: In case you didn't realize it, they ended up getting married. Hope that made sense! Please REVIEW! It really means a lot to me.
