This story was written for a reason that's very special to me.
This past year of school, my sophomore year, I met a Japanese foreign exchange student. Crazily enough, we became something like best friends. And I fell in love with him.
Today, June 25th, he took a plane back to Japan. I don't know if I'll ever see him again. It tore me up pretty bad at first, but I think I've calmed down now and accepted it.
I always thought, that even if we weren't near each other, we'd still be under the same sky, in the same world.
The title translates to "Same Moon, Same Stars, Same Sky".
I dedicate this to the hope that he made it home safely.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
MINNA TSUKI, MINNA HOSHI, MINNA SORA
Sakura looked up at the sky.
She could still feel his prescence, even though he had long since left. Bitter tears slipped down her face as she remembered that he was really gone.
For whatever reason Sasuke had left, Sakura had no inclination, no way of knowing whether he would return. She had accepted the fact that she may never see him again, almost hoped it may be so, for all the resignation that had settled into her.
But she wanted to see him.
She had wanted to see him, just once more... but once would never be enough.
How she longed to hold him in her arms again, to breathe in his scent, to know that it was his warmth she was embracing. To know that he was there, and not so far away. To know that he would be with her forever.
And at the same time, she knew it was foolish to think so.
She sighed again and focused on a distant star.
"Sasuke, doko made mo?"
Her green eyes settled on the moon, gleaming brightly through the night. She could almost see Sasuke, his skin bathed in moonlight, his onyx eyes shining.
She wondered if Sasuke could see the moon, if he was standing under it, seeking answers just as she was.
The thought calmed her. They were still under the same sky. Somewhere under the vast expanse she gazed up at was Sasuke. All the stars in the night were showered above him, too. And the moon was still shining faithfully over him, wherever he was. The same moon that shone down on her.
"Minna tsuki..."
The moon, shining down on them both.
"Minna hoshi..."
The stars, sprinkled above them, twinkling in both of their eyes.
"Minna sora..."
The sky that stretched on, despite the distance between them.
Sakura looked back at the worn path that led out of Konoha, and knew that somewhere along that path was Sasuke, walking under the same moon, the same stars, and the same sky.
OWARI
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
A/N: Sorry it was short, I'm still lazy. And do not mistake Sakura's words for my silly Wapanese. She is speaking in Japanese, and they're not just random words I threw into the sentences.
Doko made mo: Where are you? (I believe... my Japanese is still noobish)
Minna: Same
Tsuki: Moon
Hoshi: Stars
Sora: Sky
