She stalked the small mouse, her amber eyes trained on the prey ahead of her. She was momentarily distracted, her guard let down. Flashing out her claws, she flung the mouse into the air, snapping its neck swiftly as she caught it in her jaws.

He narrowed his eyes, watching his juicy piece of fresh-kill in front of him. She had no idea he was behind her, did she? Stalking forwards, he jumped on the small figure in front of him, cutting off her squeal of surprise, and ending her life. Finally. He hadn't eaten in days! Ignoring the mouse that lay dead next to his prey, he picked up the small body and brought her to his den.

The days that followed were grey and rainy. He watched as search party after search party were sent out for the she cat. He couldn't help but feel slightly amused.

They would never find her now.
