Dog Bone

It was a bright, sunny day in Paris. The sunlight flooded into the window of Ms. Bustier's 4th period English class as the students analyzed her poem. "'The scoundrel one faces.' Can anyone tell me what this signifies?" Ms. Bustier questioned. The entirety of the students in the classroom raised their hands, patiently waiting to be selected. Ms. Bustier scanned the room until she found one student hidden in the back, scrawling in his notebook. Michael, do you have an answer?" Michael Vol was their newest student who had moved from the United States with his family to Paris. He had joined Ms. Bustier's class and seemed to drift into his own world if he was not startled out of it. His head flew up, the teal hood of his shirt bobbing behind his head. He nervously played with his strings, pulling them out from underneath the brown vest he wore with it. He had obviously not been paying attention.

"This…" he scanned the poem quickly. "This line signifies the central conflict must deal with against their internal self. This obviously means that the writer has inner conflicts that need to be addressed and resolved." Ms. Bustier gawked at Michael's sudden outburst of knowledge despite not paying attention.

"Very good. Pay attention, young man, this will be on the test." She smiled at him. He smiled back and then went back to doodling. Marinette took note of him. He was quick on his feet and seemed to be a good person to have in a tight place. She thought of the incident from last week.

Chloe had been teasing Marinette for putting her hair down and Michael had stood up for her. "At least she has the bravery to put her hair down. Something which you lack." He said.

"Hey, I was a superhero. I stopped an out-of-control train and helped Ladybug save my daddy." Marinette glanced away at the mention of her alter ego.

"You hear that word? 'I was a superhero.' Was. It is in the past, Chloe, stop using it as an excuse to act horrible to people. Not only that but you also caused the train to derail out of control so it doesn't count, not that I'm keeping track." Michael walked away, satisfied, Marinette and Chloe in shock.

Marinette had also realized he genuinely cared for people as long as they were caring as well and had a big heart, ready to save the day. She also noticed his infatuation with Ladybug and Chat Noir as he had mentioned to his friends earlier that week when Marinette was nearby. But he did have self esteem issues. He often second-guessed himself and compared himself to others when it came to his abilities such as his strength and didn't have much confidence despite his natural skills that Marinette had taken note of. All in all, she liked Michael. He was a genuine, cool person that needed a self esteem boost and she had a feeling he'd be important in the next week or so. Something big was coming, Marinette had a sense of dread that only grew larger.

The bell rang and the class began to swiftly pack up and leave for lunch. "Okay, don't forget to finish annotating the poem for homework. Have a great day and stay safe." Ms. Bustier said as she sat down at her desk. Michael's bag brushed by Marinette's arm and his notebook dropped on the floor. He hadn't noticed and began to leave the classroom.

"Michael-" Marinette tried to call after him but fell over and down the steps in the classroom to Ms. Bustier's desk.

"Marinette, are you alright?" Marinette gained her gravity.

"I'm okay, but I have to return this book to Michael." Marinette gathered her things and picked up the notebook. The hall was deserted and no one was around to notice Tikki slip out of Marinette's bag and float by her head.

"I don't think he's here, Marinette!" She alerted her. "We have to find him, Tikki!" Marinette made a mad dash out of the school and quickly scanned her surroundings.

"Do you see him Tikki?" Passerbys walked down the roads, oblivious to Marinette's conversation with her kwami but Michael was nowhere to be found.

"I don't see him, Marinette. I think it's best if we just go home and return it to him tomorrow. You have homework to complete." Marinette sighed then smiled.

"You're right, Tikki." Marinette had started doing as much as her homework as she could during lunch so that after school she could finish the rest of it quickly and then go on patrol with Chat Noir. She slowly walked down the steps and began the trip back home.

As she made her way back to her house, she passed a dog owner struggling to get his dog to cooperate. "Come on, Drew!" He cried. Marinette glanced at him, remorsefully, but continued without doing anything. The disgruntled owner radiated in anger and the dog radiated in frustration that his owner treated him so awfully. Hawkmoth was lurking.

"A disgruntled owner trying to get control of his out-of-control dog? This is just what I needed." He opened his left hand and a single white butterfly fluttered into his palm. He cupped it with his right hand and dark aura seeped into it. He revealed the darkened akuma and it began to flutter away through the gap in his window. "Fly my little akuma, and evilize him!" The akuma soared gracefully above Paris, mission on mind.

Marinette stared at the poem on the paper, completely confused on how to proceed. "You've got this, Marinette! Concentrate! Think, Marinette, think!" Tikki encouraged.

"It's hard to think when I have a cheer squad next to my ear." Marinette joked. Tikki giggled. "My notes are no good. I won't be able to complete the assignment." Marinette slumped back in her chair, defeated.

"Well, maybe there's something in Michael's notebook that can help you." Tikki suggested, picking it up from across the room and bringing it to Marinette.

"Good idea, Tikki. But then again, remember what happened with Marc? I don't think I should snoop. I have to return it to him." Marinette took the book from her when something dark glimmered in the corner of her eye. The akuma fluttered by her window, catching her attention. "Tikki! An akuma!" She shouted. Without hesitation, she ran up the steps to her trap door and then to the edge of her balcony.

The akuma was nose-diving straight to the leash of that man she passed earlier. "Oh no!" Marinette cried. "Tikki, Spots-"

The akuma stopped. The man was talking to someone. His negative emotions faded. Marinette sighed in relief and turned to go when Tikki stopped her. "Marinette, we still have to capture the akuma before it akumatizes someone!" Marinette gasped.

"Oh no! You're right, Tikki! We better get down there!" Marinette stared down the edge of her balcony hoping it wouldn't akumatize someone.

But akumatize it did. Despite the man's negative emotions fading, the dog's negative emotions were as strong as ever. The akuma injected itself into the dog tag, much to Hawkmoth's surprise. "This is…not what I expected, but I can work with this. Besides, dogs are vicious creatures when provoked which makes them a perfect candidate for my akuma." Hawkmoth pondered aloud.

"Dog Bone, how many times has your owner disregarded you? How many times has he treated you like garbage? Is the house big enough to run? Do you even have any toys? Join me in my battle against Ladybug and Chat Noir and I can guarantee that all dog owners in the world will get what they truly deserve and canines will be treated as kings, so long as you do as I say."

Drew growled in agreement, the akuma making him much more intelligent. The dog owner covertly kicked Drew into the street pole and that's when the transformation began. A purple goop surrounded Drew and he began to expand. Larger larger, enormous. Bigger than the Eiffel Tower. Marinette and Tikki stared at the giant lower dog leg in front of Marinette's balcony. Dog Bone towered over Paris. He was not only enormous, but wore a crown with a purple jewel and a purple cape above the collar and dog tag. He growled, beginning to move. "Uh oh! Tikki, this isn't good! We need to transform! Now!"

"Tikki, Spots On!"

When Adrien got out of lunch hour fencing practice, he hadn't listened to his horrified teammates about the giant dog tail lurking outside, waiting to swat its next victim and stepped outside to wait for his driver to bring him home for his meal. That's when he met the giant dog tail personally. "That should not be there." He nonchalantly noted. His classmates were still cowering inside so he maneuvered around the dog tail and jumped down from the steps to the grass hidden behind the railway and released Plagg from his bag. "I don't like dogs." Plagg said, crossing his arms and sticking his nose in the air like a spoiled brat.

"Is that so?"

Plagg looked Adrien directly in the eye. "Me and the dog kwami, Barkk, have a history. I'm not looking forward to this so make it quick." Plagg ordered.

"Plagg, Claws Out!"

Ladybug's yoyo reeled her in to the farthest rooftop she could throw nearest to the dog's head. She soared above Paris and then grunted as she landed on the rooftop. She heard the grunt of a familiar voice and a "Looks like Paris is a petting zoo now, M'lady." Ladybug smirked looking over at her partner.

"I guess so, but don't get cocky now. This mutt will take you out faster than you can say 'cataclysm.'" Ladybug replied. She grappled her yo-yo onto a chimney and set off, Chat Noir following her with his staff. She used the chimney as leverage to fling herself forward onto the next object and the next, until she reached the snout of Dog Bone, Chat Noir at her side.

"Good dog, nice dog. Why don't you return your akuma so Ladybug can purify it?" She cooed. A purple butterfly etched onto his face. Hawkmoth spoke.

"Ladybug isn't on your side. Take her and her feline partner down. I know you don't like felines. Get me their miraculous, the ladybug earrings and the cat ring, and you can play with that feline all you want."

The butterfly outline vanished, leaving behind a determined dog. His dog tag began to glow and he suddenly shook his nose violently, knocking Ladybug off her balance causing her to fall into her partner's awaiting arms on his staff down below. The bark was thundering. It rang out through all of Paris. Suddenly, as if hypnotized, all the dogs in Paris began to rampage. They destroyed buildings, knocked more buildings down and harmed their owners, and all seemed to converge on one point. The place where Dog Bone was waiting. They latched onto Chat Noir's staff and began to shake it, and caused it to tip over.

"I HATE DOGS!"

Chat covered his mouth. He had never felt that way before. Plagg. Something with Plagg. Ladybug and Chat Noir landed hard on the ground and suddenly they could hear the screams of agony and fear from the Parisians. All over Paris, humans horrified of the rebellion of the dogs. That's when they began to attack. Dogs left and right, front and back began to lunge at Ladybug and Chat Noir and the innocent Parisians on the street. Ladybug brushed a chihuahua off of her upper right forearm while Chat Noir battled it out with a bloodhound. He shoved it to the ground and they began to wrestle. Ladybug kicked a dog off her leg and whacked another one attempting to scratch her face with her yoyo.

"The akuma has got to be in the dog tag! I'm going to try and get close!" Ladybug told her partner.

"Sounds good, Bugaboo! Just hurry up, I can't stand these things!" Chat groaned.

"So says the cat." Ladybug jokingly reciprocated. Jumping over a westie and sliding underneath a vicious, lunging german shepherd, Ladybug spun her yoyo and then flung it into the air. It wrapped around Dog Bone's tail who growled in confusion. Ladybug tightened her grip and took off, a swarm of dogs jumping to grab her feet. They missed by an inch and Ladybug flung herself into the air landed on his back. She reeled in her yoyo and wrapped it around the collar tightly and slowly made her way on his back. She cautiously maneuvered on the cape, careful to not slip on the silk cape. Ladybug took one final step and that's when Dog Bone howled. Another wave of dogs came running down the street and Dog Bone began to shake like he was shaking off water after a bath. Ladybug lost her footing and fell, but her yoyo caught her and she gently touched the ground. However, the dogs closing in on her would not be as gentle. Chat Noir scanned the crowd and found Ladybug in a sitch.

"Not my Ladybug!" Chat Noir shouted.

He flung his staff in her direction and it ricocheted off of a dog into the air. As the dog was knocked back, Chat Noir caught his staff in the air and landed next to her. Ladybug spun her yoyo into a shield and pulled Chat Noir back to back. He spun his staff, creating his shield.

"We're fighting dogs. We're so heartless!"

Chat Noir scoffed. "Speak for yourself." He replied full of resentment and hatred. "I'm doing you a favor by even being here! Just use your Lucky Charm and get us out of here!" Chat snapped.

"Chat Noir, you've never acted like this!" Ladybug replied whipping back a Shih-Tzu with her yoyo.

"Well maybe I'm not in the best mood, Ladybug. I hate dogs, just do your thing!"

"LUCKY CHARM!"

A red and black spotted scroll dropped into Ladybug's hands. "A scroll? How does this help us?" Dog Bone lowered his head close to the heroes, teeth baring at them. He let out a growl. Chat Noir jumped in front of Ladybug and began to spin his staff violently, whipping away all the dog attacks.

Whack!

"I'll cover you! Quickly, figure it out!" Chat shouted.

Whack!

Ladybug scanned her surroundings.

Whack!

Nothing came to mind.

Whack!

The scroll seemed familiar somehow.

Whack!

"Of course!" Ladybug shouted. "Chat Noir, I have to go!" She said.

"Don't leave me with these savages!" Chat forcefully replied.

"I have to Chat Noir, there's no time to lose! You'll be just fine. Just stay on your paws, cats always land on their feet remember? And besides you have nine lives left." Chat smirked at his partner as she swung her yoyo and zipped away to bring in another hero.

"Be careful, M'lady." He whispered.

Master Fu and his kwami, Wayzz, gently placed the real scroll on the shelf as Marinette burst in. "Master, these dogs are too powerful for Chat Noir and I to handle! If we don't bring in another hero fast, we're doomed!" Master Fu determinedly scurried over to the gramophone, closely followed by Wayzz. He input the code and the gramophone opened, revealing the miracle box. He opened it, revealing the bee and the fox miraculous and the other miraculous protruding through the side.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng, select an ally you can trust to help you alongside this mission. Choose carefully. Such powers are meant to serve the greater good. Once the job is over you must retrieve the miraculous from them."

Marinette scanned the miraculous. Rena Rouge would get crushed alongside the others. The most help she could do was distract Dog Bone but once he realized it was a trap it'd be all over. Queen Bee was an all time no. Paralyzing Dog Bone would be a good idea, but it'd require her to get close and that's something Marinette didn't want to risk. Plus, she just didn't feel like dealing with Chloe. Carapace could be helpful, especially with his superpower, but after that's up he only has defense and barely any offense. "I'm not sure, Master. I can't select any of the other heroes." She said. "I've been a long time. I suppose I should get back to Chat Noir." Marinette went to stand up but came face to face with Tikki and her half eaten cookie.

"Lucky Charm is never wrong, Marinette. Perhaps you need a new hero!" She suggested.

"But, I don't think any of the others help too. I need a hero that is strong and that we can trust to go to at any time. Especially if we lose someone." Master Fu sighed.

"Marinette, I have taught you about all the miraculous...but one. The Miraculous of Communication. The Eagle Miraculous." Master Fu shut the gramophone and then flipped it over. He pressed the hidden red button in the center of the base and out popped a pin. It was small and circular. Since its dormant form looks exactly like its activated form, it had two sharp white wings protruding from the side that formed the pinning part on the back. The circle was white and had a tiny yellow beak, separated into two sections.

"Yes! That's it Master! That's the miraculous I need!" Marinette took the miraculous from him and held it out in front of her. "And I know exactly who to give it to."

Michael frantically scanned the locker room over again. "Perfect, just perfect! The day a giant dog rampages the city and Ladybug flies away, I lose my-"

"-notebook?"

Michael stood up and turned around.

Ladybug flipped down from the locker she was standing on to the ground, holding Michael's notebook in hand and a box in the other. "Ladybug? Oh my gosh! I'm really meeting you! Where did you find my notebook? Thank you!" He held it close to his chest. "What's the box for?" He asked.

"Well, long story short, you're right. That puppy out there is rampaging and he's difficult to beat. Chat Noir and I could really use your help. Do you mind assisting us for a while? As long as you promise to keep it a secret," Ladybug explained. Michael's eyes beamed.

"Of course!" He grinned from ear to ear. Ladybug held out the wooden box. It was mesmerising, made of mahogany laced with red silk.

"Michael Vol, this is the Miraculous of the Eagle that grants the Power of Communication. You will use it for the greater good." Michael nodded and took the box from her. He held it in his right hand. "Once the job is done, you will return the miraculous to me. Can I trust you?" Ladybug asked.

Michael nodded. "You can always trust me Ladybug. But can I ask you something?" Ladybug nodded. "I'm seriously stoked to be a hero. Don't get me wrong, I am, but everyone else has such cool powers. You have creation, Chat Noir has destruction. Rena Rouge-illusion, Queen Bee-immobilization, Carapace-protection. But can I ask, what good is communication? Don't you have communicators in your weapons? What good is my superpower?" Ladybug smiled warmly.

"Michael, it's not about the power that you have that makes you a hero, it's how you use it for the better of humanity. Who knows? There's always a chance something might happen. Every power is important for a reason, or else it wouldn't be a power. Don't be discouraged. Be confident in your abilities." She placed her hand on his shoulder. He smiled.

"Okay. I'm ready."

And with that, he popped the box open with his thumb. For a couple seconds after he opened it, the miraculous did nothing. Then, it began to glow into a sphere of white. The ball of glowing white circled his head and then halted in front of his face. It formed into a kwami. The kwami was small, four inches to be exact. He was mainly brown, however a tuft of feathers on his chest was white and his neck was white. His entire head was white as well, only his beak being colored yellow. His feet were yellow, cutting off the brown of its body and two white wings protruded from his back. He opened his vibrant yellow eyes. "What are you, little guy?" Michael asked, holding the pin in one hand and putting the miraculous box it came in in his pocket.

"I'm Kwazzi, your kwami!" Michael grinned again.

"Awesome! So you go into this thing and turn me into a superhero right?" He asked, pointing to the pin.

"Totally, dude. Just say 'Kwazzi, Take Flight' to transform and 'Let's Land' to change back. Your superpower is 'Sonar' and you can speak to and locate any miraculous holder that way. You only have five minutes until I run out of energy once you use it, though. And your weapon is a bow and a large assortment of arrows. Are you ready, Michael Vol?" Kwazzi asked.

"Totally!" Michael replied confidently. The pin, now from dormant to deactivated, turned black in the center.

"You know what to say!"

"Kwazzi, Take Flight!"

Chat Noir was running. He was running because the second Ladybug abandoned him, he realized there was no way he could fight all those dogs. Those nasty, ugly dogs. His plan was to run to the dog park. He reasoned that it was large enough to accommodate all the dogs (he was wrong), that he could distract them with the dog park items (way wrong), and that he could escape (have you noticed the pattern yet?). Chat Noir's first problem began when the dogs flooded the park, knocking down the gates in the process. Then they began to rampage, destroying everything in sight and began to attack Chat Noir and innocent civilians. The dog park was right next to the Eiffel Tower and Dog Bone stood next to it, giving everyone a clear image of how tall he really was. Helicopters for different news broadcasts circled his head, trying to get a visual of the villain. His paws were larger than Chat Noir who was the tallest of the team and his head was a solid twenty feet above the tippy top of the Eiffel Tower. All in all, it was horrifying. Chat Noir attempted to fight off the army of dogs, extending his staff and twirling it in a defensive nature, similar to how he fought off the Sapotis, but they overpowered him just as Ladybug and Michael veered in. "Chat Noir! No!" Ladybug didn't hesitate. Chat watched as a strange new figure stopped her from diving in and saving him. He saw brown.

No one on the team wears brown.

He saw defined pecs and they were floating in the air.

Definitely not anyone I know. Ladybug must have brought in someone new.

The new hero, Eagle Eye as he called himself, set Ladybug down. She eyed him angrily. His pecs rose and sank with his erratic breathing. Eagle Eye's costume consisted of a mainly brown jumpsuit that had an overcoat attached that represented the tail of an eagle when he flew. He had white boots with white cuffs at the top and yellow soles that represented claws. His gloves were white as well, with two wings attached for steering when he flew in the air. He also had a white hood with a yellow beak attached to the top. Above the beak were two yellow eyes, similar to Kwazzi's and he wore a yellow mask which brought out his green eyes. His white jetpack attached to his back by magic whirred to a quiet purr as Ladybug began to shout at him. "My partner is in there! I have to save him!" Ladybug cried.

"And we will, but jumping in there is suicide! We can't just jump in, you'll get slaughtered! We can't lose you! You're the only one who can purify the akuma! We have to think logically. Act smarter not harder." Eagle Eye's words shocked Ladybug. For someone who had just become a hero, he was good at pep talks.

"You're right. We can't play games. This akuma is dangerous, it's time to get our heads in the game." She looked down at the wave of dogs suffocating her feline partner. "There's no way we can talk to him or track him in that stampede through his communicator. They'll smother him. Remember when you asked me what your superpower was for? Now it's needed more than ever." Eagle Eye grinned.

"I guess you're right. This should be fun!" Eagle Eye twirled in place, placed his hands on the tip of his hood, then made an X using his arms in front of his chest. As he quickly broke the X, spreading his arms, he shouted.

"SONAR!"

An invisible link set off in his head, reaching out for the Cat link travelled down into the sea of dogs. Chat Noir felt a buzzing in his head stopping him from slipping into unconsciousness. Then a voice began to speak to him.

"Chat Noir!" The voice excitedly shouted. A bright white winged outline appeared around Chat Noir's eyes. "Wow! I can't believe my power is working! Are you there?" Chat Noir gasped for air as the link made him stronger.

"I'm here! Who are you?" He asked.

"Ladybug recruited me! My name is Eagle Eye! I've just used my power and I'm coming to save you!" Eagle Eye took a dive off of the building causing Ladybug to shout.

"Eagle Eye, what are you doing?" His jetpack whirred louder as he soared above the sea of enraged dogs, dodging the ones jumping up to attack him. He swirled and loop de looped, the wings on his gloves flapping in the wind. Then slowly lowered himself in. He arose moments later with a black leathered feline superhero in his arms, bridal style. He made a U-Turn and gently placed him down on the roof of the building and landed next to Ladybug.

"Got him. Now what? We still have to stop Dog Bone." Eagle Eye said. The link ended and the white outline vanished. The sound of a bark and then rumbling knocked them out of their conversation. Another wave of dogs was storming down the street. "And now we have to deal with that!" Eagle Eye said.

"Well, I think Ladybug has a little bit of luck up her sleeve," Chat Noir answered and smirked.

"Well can she do it quick? I just lost a wing," Eagle Eye said. He pulled back his hood to where he had placed his miraculous and patted the beeping pin in his hair. Everything was in color except for the left wing which had vanished completely.

"LUCKY CHARM!"

A red and black polka dotted back scratcher fell into Ladybug's hands. "A back scratcher? Ladybug, I think your power is broken," Eagle Eye patronized.

Her Lucky Vision activated, and highlighted four buses in a parking lot, then the wave of dogs, the knocked down fence, two trees, Dog Bone's cape, his dog tag and then her partners. "I think it's working quite well," Ladybug retaliated. "This is a bit of a stretch, but something tells me Dog Bone just wants love." The two other heroes eyed her oddly. "First, we need to save those civilians and get them to higher ground." She pointed to a couple of innocent Parisians running and screaming on the ground.

"Good thing I can fly," Eagle Eye said backing off the building. He crossed his arms, and floated using his jetpack.

"We have other methods," Ladybug responded holding up her yoyo, "but yours is the most effective. Be ready to catch, blow some stuff up, and fire some serious arrows. I'll tell you when." Eagle Eye nodded. "Chat Noir, when I give the signal, use your Cataclysm to take out the base of the fence those dogs knocked over. I'll get close and take Dog Bone's cape. And we all have to herd the dogs in the park between those two trees." She pointed to two trees in the far end of the park juxtaposed to one another. "Ready? Break!" Without hesitation, Ladybug and Chat Noir jumped down to rescue two civilians cornered by dogs. Eagle Eye maneuvered in the air, getting into position. Then the jetpack opened a secret compartment and shot out a technological brown bow with a white stripe going down the center.

"Woah, that's awesome!" he shouted in glee, holding it by the soft grip. The compartment shot out multiple arrows and he took aim and began firing at the stampede of dogs, slowing them down. His jetpack shot out an arrow with what looked like a webbed ball at the end. "What?" he pondered aloud. Eagle Eye aimed and fired, the arrow coming undone midair and forming a net that trapped a large portion of the furious dogs. "Oh yeah! On the money!" Ladybug smirked at Eagle Eye's jubilation. Chat Noir landed in between a pitbull and a woman backed into a corner. The dog lunged and Chat Noir caught the dog, tossing it off. It turned back to attack, but by then, Chat had thrown the woman to Eagle Eye who brought her to the top of a building and had moved on. Ladybug used her yoyo to yank off the dogs piling on top of a businessman and then kicked them off, one by one and threw the man to Eagle Eye. Eagle Eye gripped him by the wrists and flew him over to the nearest rooftop. This continued for a while, Ladybug and Chat Noir saving civilians from the dog rebellion and Eagle Eye moving them to a rooftop for safety. As Eagle Eye placed the last civilian on the rooftop, and he watched Ladybug closely for the signal. She waved in his direction and pointed to the parking lot with buses parked inside.

"Blow it up!" she cried. Eagle Eye took out his bow again.

"What type of arrow will help me out here?" The compartment that shot out his bow shot out an arrow with a bowling ball bomb attached to the end. "Alright then." He aimed and fired at the buses she pointed at. It landed just next to them, rolled, and then sat for a moment before exploding, causing the buses to fly up into the air. Ladybug whipped her arm back and then forward, and summoning all her strength, she stacked the buses on top of one another, keeping the dog army parading down the street at bay. She parkoured her way to the top of the bus tower and then jumped off. Wrapping her yoyo around Dog Bone's ear, she propelled her way around his neck. He attempted to catch her in his mouth, but she swooped down at the last second and snatched his cape. She whirled around Dog Bone's back and flipped back onto the bus tower, landing with her arm holding the cape in the air.

"Now Chat Noir! Let's get the dogs in position!" Ladybug ordered.

Chat Noir extended his staff and rolled it forward, pushing as hard as he could to shove the dogs into the gap of the juxtaposed trees. Eagle Eye landed on the ground hard, causing a shockwave and knocking a large majority of the dogs into position.

"Woah, I guess my miraculous gives me extra strength, similar to Rena Rouge's burst of agility. Awesome," Eagle Eye noted.

"Chat Noir!" Ladybug yelled, pointing at the base of the destroyed gate.

"CATACLYSM!"

Chat Noir sliced the base of the gate and it disintegrated. Four large pointed pillars lay on the ground and the gate lay in between them. Eagle Eye suddenly caught onto Ladybug's idea as she wrapped the cape around the pile of dogs trapped in between the trees. He picked up a pillar and ascended into the air. He yanked back the cord and let it go.

Thump!

It stuck, securing the cape on one side of the tree.

Thump!

Thump!

Thump!

Eagle Eye launched the other three into both sides of the trees, one on either side of each tree. The army was secure, and the next wave was still trapped behind the buses. Ladybug, Chat Noir and Eagle Eye landed in the center of the park staring up at the titular villain who towered over them, threatening them with his presence. Each of their miraculous beeped, signifying their inevitable detransformation. "Alright, Ladybug, the army is secure. What do we need to do next? And can we hurry? I lost both of my wings and I'm about to lose one half of my beak!" It was true. He pulled back his hood revealing that the left section of the beak on his pin was flashing. Ladybug had lost two spots and Chat Noir had four pads left.

"Which one of you feels like playing back scratcher?" She asked, holding up the Lucky Charm object.

"Not it!" Eagle Eye exclaimed and placed his index finger on his nose, sensing where this was going.

Dog Bone was indifferent to what was happening below. "Dog Bone! Why are you just letting Ladybug execute her plan? Stop her!" Hawkmoth shouted.

"Dog Bone! You're going down!" Ladybug cried, suddenly on the bus tower. She took off running and spun her yoyo before striding off. She was like a rocket as she soared through the air, whipping Dog Bone in the snout with her yoyo multiple times, angering him. Then she hit him in the eye, causing him to whimper. She landed on his back. "Bad dog, bad dog!" She stuck out her tongue and blew raspberries. Dog Bone let out a growl in irritation and reached out to take a large bite out of her. Ladybug leapt up, avoiding the bite and ran down his snout and onto his head. She took a firm seat in between his ears and gripped them tightly, using them as handlebars to make him stand. "Do a trick for me if you want a treat!" She giggled. Dog Bone growled and shook violently as if he was shaking off bath water. Ladybug attempted to hold on, but inevitably was launched off of his back and sent flying into the air.

"Ladybug!" Eagle Eye cried, preparing to fly up and catch her. Chat Noir stopped him.

"She can handle herself."

"But what if something happens? What if she can't do it? What if I can't do it?"

"Ladybug never fails because she's confident. She doesn't give up, no matter the odds. You could use some confidence yourself. If it weren't for you, those innocent people on that rooftop would have been gone. I would have been gone. Believe in yourself. Just like Ladybug. She hasn't failed yet, and she won't fail now. I trust her. And you should trust yourself."

Ladybug regained control and propelled her yoyo back to Dog Bone. It wrapped around his snout this time, keeping his trap shut. She reeled herself back in rapidly and struck him in the chin with a powerful blow from her foot. His head shot upwards and Ladybug's yoyo still attached, she was whipped upwards as well. Dog Bone used this tactic to his advantage, jerking his head erratically until her yoyo unraveled around his snout and Ladybug flipped onto his back. Dog Bone whipped his head around and barked before going to take another large chomp out of Ladybug. She dodged and then pulled back. "That's it boy. Just a little closer!" She whispered. Dog Bone completely turned around, legs close together, face close to his butt. "Perfect!" Ladybug flipped onto his snout and then jumped off, snaring his legs in her yoyo, whirling around his lower body, wrapping them tightly and pulling him to the ground.

Chat Noir didn't like the final phase of the plan. He hated it. But he did it anyway, simply because he loved Ladybug and would do anything for her. And Paris. He'd do anything for Paris. So he took the back scratcher, reluctantly marchedd to Dog Bone's stomach and pressed the Lucky Charm item to his stomach and ran it up and down. All thoughts of evil in Dog Bone's mind vanished as the scratches on his stomach filled him with overwhelming relaxation. He howled as Ladybug scratched behind his ear. "That's a good dog. Now don't move," she cooed. Ladybug reached over and swiftly unhooked the dog tag from Dog Bone's collar. She launched it at Eagle Eye who severed it in two using his bow. Dog Bone shrank back down to the size of a regular dog as the transformation wore off and he began to fall to the ground. As the akuma escaped from the broken dog tag, Chat Noir caught Drew and handed Ladybug the back scratcher.

"No more evil-doing for you, little akuma," Ladybug stated as she swiped down the center of her yoyo. The cover split open, revealing purifying white light inside. Ladybug let the yoyo fall to the ground before twirling it in her usual fashion.

"TIME TO DE-EVILIZE!"

She whipped the yoyo in the direction of the escaping akuma. It caught tagged in the white light and attempted to get away when the yoyo snapped shut on it. Ladybug reeled it back in.

"Gotcha!"

She opened the yoyo and watched the white butterfly flutter off, pure as light. "Bye-bye, little butterfly." She took the back scratcher and flung it into the air.

"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!"

A majestic swarm of ladybugs spontaneously formed from the back scratcher and began to repair the damage that the villain had caused. The dog park had been repaired, all the buildings that had been knocked down were straight again, any harmed victims had been healed, and all the dogs returned to their respective owners in Paris, no longer under the mind control of Dog Bone. "Wow, that's beautiful." Eagle Eye smiled as the ladybugs vanished and all was right with the world again.

"Pound-" The three were about fist bump when Drew's owner suddenly appeared, popping out of nowhere and instantly began scolding his pet.

"Drew! You stupid, stupid dog! Look at all the damage you caused! You're nothing but trouble!" Drew whimpered and tried to hide in Chat Noir's arms and even he felt some sympathy for the animal. Ladybug cleared her throat, all three heroes giving the dog owner a dirty look.

"I'm sorry sir, but the scolding of your dog and your misbehavior towards it is considered abuse," Ladybug began.

"This dog is adorable and all he wants is love," Eagle Eye said.

"Something which you cannot provide," Chat finished.

The owner was furious. "But I-"

"We will call the shelter, I'm sure they'll find a decent, caring person to take care of him," Ladybug warned.

"Actually, I'll take him. I know someone that'll take good care of him," Eagle Eye said, winking at Ladybug.

"In the meantime, you won't be needing this." Ladybug plucked the leash from the dog owner's hand and wrapped it around her waist. "Thank you, I'll pick up the rest of Drew's necessities tomorrow." The three miraculous beeped in unison.

"Time to go," Chat Noir said, passing the dog to Eagle Eye.

"Bug Out!" Ladybug smirked before reeling off with her yoyo, Eagle Eye taking off and tailing her into an obscure alley where he could detransform. Eagle Eye landed and stood up straight. He handed Drew to Ladybug.

"Let's Land."

A white light traveled up Eagle Eye's body as he was reverted back into Michael Vol and Kwazzi escaped the pin in his hair. "Thanks for your help, Michael. I'm positive we can depend on you again," Ladybug gladly stated.

As Michael fished the miraculous box out of his pocket, he replied, "You couldn't pay me not to! See you later, Kwazzi." The kwami locked his arm with his temporary holder's index finger as a sign of loyalty and trust and was sucked back into the miraculous, reverting it to its dormant state. Michael placed the miraculous back in the box, closed it, and handed it back to Ladybug. "I just wish I could have fought for longer. I like being a hero," Michael said to her, grinning.

"Don't worry. Eagle Eye will be back. You can bet on that." Her miraculous beeped, two spots left. "Are you sure you can take this guy?" She asked, gesturing to Drew.

"Of course I can. I love this cutie. My family has been looking for a pet anyway," he said hooking the leash onto Drew.

"Well, he's in your hands. And be nice to him. We don't want a repeat of today," Ladybug joked. Michael smirked.

"We sure don't. One exception, of course." He winked. Ladybug giggled.

"Thanks again for your help today," Ladybug smiled, holding out her fist.

"If you ever need a communicator, you know where to come." They bumped fists.

"Pound it."

Her miraculous beeped for the last time. "Guess you better get going. Drew and I have to, too," he noted, beginning to leave. "See you next time, LB," he said, waving.

"See you soon, Eagle Eye."

With that, Ladybug's yoyo zipped into the air and soon she found herself sitting with Master Fu as he placed the Eagle Miraculous back in its respectful place.

"Marinette, I am very pleased with your work as Ladybug. However, I am concerned that Hawkmoth is planning something big. I warn you, be cautious next week, specifically on Heroes Day. It is likely Hawkmoth is saving his most powerful villain for next week. Be ready. This may be your biggest challenge as Ladybug," he warned.

Leaning forward, Marinette remarked, "Thank you, Master, but I believe that we have the situation under control. Not only do I have my loyal partner, but I also have Eagle Eye, Rena Rouge, Carapace, and…Queen Bee. But if it eases your nerves, we will all be cautious. I promise."

Master Fu sighed.

"It is well, Marinette."

The tension was thick. Marinette and Master Fu had a sense of dread. The kwamis looked at each other. They felt the dread as well. Suddenly, Tikki sprang up. "Marinette! Lunch hour is almost over!" Marinette squealed and quickly whipped out her phone. Tikki was right. Dog Bone had taken up all of their time.

"Thanks, Tikki! You too, Master! I have to go!" Marinette rushed out of the massage parlor, leaving Master Fu with Wayzz.

"Do you really think that they can handle whatever comes next, Master?" Wayzz asked.

"I do not know, Wayzz. I simply do not know."

When Marinette got back to school, it was time for gym. They were playing dodgeball. Before the game started, all anyone could talk about was Eagle Eye.

"Ladybug really is making a team! The tabloids are true! Eagle Eye is so cool!" Rose squealed.

"I'm so mad I couldn't get any footage for the Ladyblog!" Alya growled.

Nino comforted her saying, "Next time."

"Eagle Eye really is cool though. Did you see his costume?" Adrien grinned. "Even Chat Noir would be jealous."

"It's awesome that he can fly. I've always wanted to soar above Paris," Mylene added.

Michael was on the side, listening to their conversation. He smirked to himself when Marinette blurted, "What do you think about him, Michael?" He hadn't expected her to ask him anything. He stammered for a moment, trying to regain his stability.

"He's really awesome. I want to meet him, he seems like a great superhero to have on the team. I even saw him use his superpower! He can track down other superheroes! Isn't that amazing?"

"I wish I could track down Ladybug like that," Alya grumbled.

The whistle rang and the teams began to get into formation. Alya, team captain, put everyone in formation, but this time, Michael shocked her. "I'd rather try and be up front today if you don't mind," he offered.

"I mind. You'd be fresh meat for everyone on my team!" Chloe taunted.

"Oh yeah, wanna bet on that?" Michael asked. Rose let him take her spot and the game began. Michael pummeled Chloe's team, saving her for last. She began to run back to her wall when Michael pegged her, causing her to fall to the ground. The ball bounced back into his hands. He spun it on his index finger. "Who's fresh meat now?" He taunted.

The entire class erupted in laughter.

"Well, well, well, a new scoop. What's gotten into Michael Vol?" Alya questioned.

"Just a little confidence. Is that so bad?" Michael smirked.

"I think it's great you're more happy with who you are, Michael. You used to be so unhappy," Adrien complimented.

"Well that's over now. I'm a new Michael, I can promise you that."

END

I know some of you probably don't care about what I'm about to say and if you want to, you can move onto the next story in the Eagle Eye Chronicles, but for those of you that do, thanks for sticking around. My OC had just gotten a little boring after a while, you know? Michael Larounge was too old and just overall uninspiring. However, I decided after Carapace's appearance that it was time for a change. Of EVERYTHING.

So I changed Michael's name from Larounge to Vol because A. Larounge isn't even a name or means anything and B. Vol means flight in french and I felt like that flew off the tongue better and made more sense regarding his superhero identity. Literally a couple days ago, after I finished revising the story, I changed their designs. Michael looks pretty much the same since I only added a jacket, changed his pants to have cuffs and made them purple and changed his eye color, but Eagle Eye changed drastically. So drastically, I had to revise the story all over again. I even had to edit Kwazzi and the Eagle Miraculous. But it was worth it. I'm really in love with his design. I got inspiration from Sparrow, a scrapped character that reappears in the comic series. Lastly, I changed his power. I felt it was kind of irrelevant because it was the same as Chat's Cataclysm. It was unnecessary and there was a gag in the original of this story (Mauvaise Morsure in the other book) where they argued over who would use their power because they had the same effect. It was really cringey so I changed it. According to Wikipedia, eagles are a sign of strength (which is why I included a shockwave in the battle) and are messengers in Roman history which is where Sonar came from. I thought it was cool that he could track down and communicate and revitalize other heroes and so I kept it. And I don't regret it. Eagle Eye is better as a temporary hero in my eyes and I don't care about what anyone else thinks (like anyone cares lol) but I'm glad I made the change and I'd do it agai if I could. That's all I needed to say.

Eagle Out!
