A normal meeting. That was how it all started. But then he heard the ticking.
It wasn't loud. Just a small noise nagging at his brain. It couldn't be the clock, that had been broken last meeting. But then, what could it be?
Falling quiet, and therefore catching the attention of every nation in the immediate vicinity, America ducked down and checked under the desk. His eyes widened.
"BOMB!"
Immediately, people rushed to the exit. Each of them knew how serious a bomb threat could turn out to be. None of them noticed as one tripped.
America paused, they were missing someone. He turned, unable to look away, as flames engulfed Canada's horrified face. The explosion was confined to the room,
but still large enough to injure anyone standing too close. In this case, Canada.
"Help! Someone help! He's… He's…"
America ran back in and knelt next to Canada's body, frantically trying to get one of the other countries to assist him.
"It's… It's okay, America. I'm a country. We… we can't die… like this."
Canada's eyes slipped closed.
"No! No, Canada! Wake up!"
England carefully approached the distressed nation.
"Lad, calm down."
Tears streamed down America's face.
"But Canada…! Can't you see he needs help?!"
France walked over from where the rest of the nations had gathered as America gestured blindly as Canada's body.
"America, everyone got out in time. There's no one there."
Now America looked horrified, as, glancing back at the wall, he noticed that France spoke the truth. There was no-one there.
"Are you alright? Are you finished yelling about this 'Canada'?"
America looked dazedly back at England.
"Who?"
"Nevermind. Rejoin us when you get your head together."
As England walked back to the others, America realised his sight was blurry. Wiping at his eyes, he noticed his cheeks were wet.
Had he been crying?
Dismissing the thought, he ran back to the others.
"Never fear! The Hero is here!"
The hero who couldn't even remember his little brother, let alone save him.
AN: But then Canada woke up in his home country, fully revived, and everyone was happy again! I mean, it's not like I could erase a whole nation of
people just for the sake of an idea, that would be absurd. How dare you assume that of me.
Anyway, as said, this was just an idea that I for some reason updated. More edits will likely occur (like the one that just happened), as I liked the idea, not my written up version of it.
Ciao!
