The sky seems to reflect her mood as it begins to darken. There at the edge of the forest she stood, surveying the remains of the battle which happened not very long ago. The deep, long gorge in the ground mirrored the one in her heart.

The rain began to fall.

She did not feel the rain that beat down on her nor could she feel the wind that is whipping around her. Numb, that was what she was. Numb from the pain that has been her constant companion since a hundred years ago. The pain brought about by a certain someone. Her expression hardened and softened as she reminiscent the past. The pain. The sadness. The longing.

Unbeknown to her, the very person who caused the storm inside of her was nearby watching her every move. She had been watching her the whole time. The one that captured her heart more than a hundred years ago with her shy smiles and adorable blushes. The only one which could make her heart beat faster and slower at the same time. She looked beautiful yet lonely, standing in the rain the way she did. The storm around her only serves to accentuate her beauty instead of diminishing it. No matter where and when, she has always had her heart, only she did not know it. She knew that somewhere deep in the recesses of her heart lies the person she once knew. She could not, for the life of her, understand why no one, save for herself could see what she saw, a person so beautiful and so full of passion waiting only for someone to release her from the wall she built around herself and let it all out. Looking back at the battle and the words thrown at her, she knew she deserved every bit of rage and sarcasm thrown her way. They stung and knowing that she did deserve them doesn't reduce the damage they do but increase it exponentially. It was akin to senbonsakura kageyoshi running through her heart, a hundred million blades stabbing her one at a time. It was times like this that she wished she was numb.

AN: I stumbled upon something yesterday afternoon while surfing the net and it hurt real bad, making me wish I was numb. That and the opening of bleach (the one whr the OP theme is "Ichirin no Hana") the part whr Soi Fong stood in the rain inspired me to write this. It's really short but I hope you all like it. Might be a little confusing. Hope you all can tell which one is Soi Fong and which one is Yoruichi.
