Just a random story...i had the idea for the end and then kinda wrote backwards. I think this one is pretty messed up and is unrealistic but it did remind me of New Years....so you guys are getting a New Years Special too :D
"So Case, who are you bringing to the New Year's Eve Party?" Jackie asked rather soft against the soft murmurs of a slow day at the coffee shop. Riley's ears perked up from across the room. Were they seriously talking about that subject when he just coincidently happened to be there unknown?
"Well I was going to bring Cole but I caught him cheating." KC replied.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that." Jackie responded sympathetically.
"Don't worry about it; I'm over it. But the bad thing is that he also trashed the dress I was going to wear. It's a long story." KC said as she took a drink from her coffee.
"Well I could let you borrow one?" Jackie suggested.
"Really? I mean if it's okay with you-" KC began but Jackie cut her off.
"It's no problem at all."
"Awesome!" KC said excitedly and looked down at her phone. "Oh, we had better hurry if we want to get the mall early."
"Okay, let's go." Jackie responded and got up. KC did the same and followed Jackie out of the door. As they left, something caught Riley's attention. He scooted over to the table they were at and studied the item he found on the ground. It was KC's flip flop. A few questions popped into Riley's head at that moment: 1.) How did she not notice her missing shoe? 2.) Why was she wearing flip flops in December and 3.) How on Earth was he going to get her shoe back to her? An idea immediately came to Riley.
Two Days Later
KC twirled in the dress that Jackie had eagerly provided her. Jackie, herself clad in a beautiful dress, stood next to KC, reassuring her in the mirror. The whole thing seemed like something straight out of a Disney movie. KC glided out onto the swirling dance floor and looked around cautiously.
"May I have this dance?" Riley's voice said from behind her. KC turned around, attempting to avoid showing the surprise that came through her as he spoke.
"Yes, you may." KC replied, smiling. Riley took her hand and guided her to the dance floor. They immediately started slow dancing with the rest of the crowd.
"Wow, Riley. You're really light on your feet." KC complimented as the room began to spin slowly with them.
"I guess I'm just lucky." He said proudly.
"God, you're making me feel like Cinderella." KC stated.
"Really? Because I have something you might want." He whispered while pulling out KC's missing shoe. KC stared at it for a moment then it finally hit her.
"That's such a coincidence." KC said softly, "I guess there are fairytale endings."
"There are indeed." Riley murmured, "But, every single one is completed with this."
Riley pressed his lips to hers. They continued to spin mindlessly as they became in love with the fact that fairytale endings could occur.
