Behold! The first joint fic! This was written at about 2 AM, but we still like it. Sabet wrote, but Peka approved. Enjoy!
"Peka, you're sure about this?" Peka nodded. Sabet always worried about her and her…obsession. "It's just that…"
"You said yourself it was simple! Just get on with it!"
"All right. You have twenty minutes. Then you're coming back, with or without him."
It's true, the plan was simple. Warp Peka through a Game Boy Advance to the moment just after Vaati took the Minish Cap, take Vaati, bring him back to Peka's living room. No harm to Hyrule, Peka gets Vaati, and Sabet shuts up about dating psychopaths who want to be demons.
"Ready?" Sabet asked.
"I have been for like a year!"
"More like four minutes… Anyhow, on three. One… two… three!"
With the technology manipulation that could never actually happened, yet somehow did, Peka was easily lifted from this time and place and set down in Minish Woods, right next to a young Minish. This boy, though, seemed different than the other Picori. With a quick glance at the older Minish nearby, he turned back to staring at a red hat in front of him.
"Vaati?" Peka said tentatively.
The boy jumped. "Who are you?" he asked, turning. "You don't look Minishy."
"That's because I'm not. I'm human."
"Really?" Vaati now stared intently at her, his initial shock at a random teenager next to him now wearing off. "I've always wanted to be human."
"Well than, go on, take the hat."
"Um… okay…" He reached out a hand and grabbed it so fast that Peka, who was looking for it, barely saw.
"You've got a future in pick-pocketing," Peka said before she realized she was speaking.
Vaati merely shot her a dark look before going to jam the cap on his head. In that moment, though, the world went dark. Vaati froze, hat halfway up.
"It has not been twenty minutes!" Peka shouted angrily.
"'Fraid it has. Grab Vaati, you're getting out of there," said Sabet.
Obviously, Vaati instinctively backed up. "'Grab Vaati'? What are you talking about?"
Peka felt herself being lifted up. Just in time, she grabbed Vaati's arm, saying, "I'll explain later! Hold on to that hat!"
The landed back at Peka's house. Sabet looked around before saying, "Well? Where is he?"
"Oh… right," Peka said. "He didn't put the Minish Cap on. He's still a Minish."
Suddenly, a human Vaati sprung up next to them. Before either could react, he turned Peka into a hat.
"What the hell did you just do?" yelled Sabet. Before Vaati could flinch, he had been slapped. Very hard. "Yes! That felt good!"
"You want to be a hat too?" Vaati threatened.
"Not particularly," replied Sabet casually, as Peka returned to human form. She ran up to him and engaged him in a death hold, otherwise known as an extremely tight hug.
"W-what?" Vaati stammered, though whether from confusion of lack of air was unclear.
"Basically, Peka is possibly your most obsessive fangirl," Sabet explained.
"Fangirl?"
"Means I wanna date you, Vaati!" Peka shouted gleefully and held Vaati even tighter.
"Peka, let Vaati go. He's suffocating."
"How do you know?"
"He's turning purple."
"He's purple to begin with!"
"Purpler."
Peka let Vaati go. He immediately collapsed onto a sofa. Catching his breath, he managed to say, "I'll date you if you promise to never do that again."
Peka's face brightened. "Really?" Vaati nodded. "Yay! Yay! Yay!" She grabbed him again, even tighter.
"Let...me…turn…her…back…into…hat!" he choked out.
Sabet smirked. "No. I'm going to watch you suffer."
