Chapter 1: Curiosity made a human fall down.
A long, thick rope is thrown down inside a hole, the darkness and hits a flower bed below. At it's the above end , a human shaped shadow starts to climb it down.
"Wow, this is a beatiful cave!" They say with a masculine voice while moving their head and body around, swaying the rope a bit.
"I hope you're not speaking your last words, Mister Alex!" A female, excited voice comes from the human, who takes off a radio from his light green climbing pants and holds it up his head with a free hand.
"Haha! Relax, woman!" His laughs echos around the place." You know I do this everytime! And since we are making a expedition in a peaceful place, we have no one to bother us!"
The rope starts to shake just as his last words left his mouth.
"What is that!?" Alex asks wobbly while hugging the hope with the radio almost slipping out his hands while talking to it. "Clara, can you stop shaking the rope!?It would be really nice!"
"Oh my god, Alex!" Desperation fills his partner's voice. "Okay, I think something hit it. How far are you from the ground?"
Alex leans down slowly and looks down while squinting his eyes. "I can barely see a flower bed, maybe I am not that far from it!"
A snap echoes over the place, and the said ground is coming closer. The man only had time to scream a very bad word before the impact.
Through a cloud of yellow flower petals, Alex coughs while lying down on his back.
"Crap. I can't believe I survived this!" He gets up coughing once more and starts to search his back, pulling a black backpack up. "I hope nothing broke inside it...or me."Alex completes the sentence by patting his beige T-shirt. Looking down the yellow flowers, he praises his good luck when his radio is found unscathed. "Good boy. You did not abandon me." He says while lifting it up with a hand, letting the light from the entrance to shine the radio, that also shows his black hair and light tan skin with a shaved beard on his face.
"Clara!? Can you hear me? Over!" Alex speaks loudly at the equipment that is still turned on. No response. A sweat drips down his forehead. "Clara!? Over!?", he tries again, but just hears the radio's static. "Alrighty!" The man puts the radio in front him and forces a smile. "So you don't mind me exploring by myself!? Ha! Off I go!" And the radio is put inside the backpack. Alex looks around. Near the flowerbed, there are many white pillars covered by vines, making a way to a entrance where it's pillars are doing their work of supporting the stones on it.
"This must be a kind of ruins." Alex scrathes his chin. "A religious temple , maybe?" He absent mindly touches one of the pillars and almost loses his balance when it falls down with a loud boom, spreading stones everywhere. Alex just takes a step back and concludes: "It's a ruins then." Walking carefully between the pillars and driven by a intense curiosity and determination, Alex goes through the entrance, hoping it does not fall down on his head.
