Note Found on Top of the Boardwalk
jumping off of the top of the boardwalk
always needs one member of camp—drains us
runs away
never happy when not with us
when she's good she is still just as needy and demanding as when she's bad
it's now an issue of safety
Note: I found this poem on a pad of yellow lined paper on top of the Hawaiian Boardwalk at my camp. It striked me as odd that someone would even leave such a poem somewhere like that, but I found it, nonetheless. I tried to comprehend it, but it is too complex. And the mysteries of who the poem is talking about and who (which counselor) wrote it is too much to undertand. I can't figure it out. Maybe you can.
