Sometimes Harry didn't know what to do with the boy.
Not that he didn't love teddy, but he seemed so extreme sometimes, but he supposed that it was do to the moon and what ever caused his mothers erratic behavior.
But sometimes it hurt to see teddy with a button nose, heart shaped faced, wide eyes, and short, spiked, bright pink hair.
He started to look like his parents when he went through his identity crisis.
Harry remembered walking into his room and finding tonks, in her favorite pair of pants, band shirt riding up her stomach, boots on her feet, staring at the reflection in the mirror crying.
To say that Harry was sad was an understatement.
He remembered going over and hugging the crying fourteen year old boy, turned girl.
He remembered crying when he heard his voice ask why he couldn't remember what she sounded like.
He remembered that after a little he carried teddy down stairs on his back talking to him as if he were his mother.
He remembers setting the young women on the counter and telling her all her favorite words and old memories of her past life.
He remembered helping her adjust her voice so that it was hers not teddy's.
He remembers Ginny getting home and crying, and how they never did it again because she started yelling and almost hit teddy with a hex, how she went to st. Mongols for a check up, and how she had nightmares for weeks.
No they didn't do it again till teddy lost himself again when he was sixteen.
This time when Harry went to his room in their house he found Remus sitting in socks and a pair of boxers on the bed holding a photo of himself.
With out hesitation Harry sat in front of his old time friend and helped him adjust his voice to perfection.
Harry told him a his mannerisms and words, his small comforting gestures, everything.
Then Harry promptly forgot that it wasn't Remus.
Forgot that it was teddy.
Forgot that he wasn't real at all.
Harry remembers tell Remus all about what had happened after he finished killing the dark lord.
Like he was only just returning and Remus had been on vacation.
He told Remus how proud of teddy he was, how grown up he was all of a sudden.
How he feared he would lose him some how, not by death but from separation.
He told Remus all his fears conserving teddy, like his sudden need to be alone.
About how he seemed to be pushing away from him.
How he was the last piece that connected Harry's world together.
Harry remembers crying as Remus hugged him and told him how proud he was that he was such a good father.
How he didn't want anyone other then Harry raising his son.
How teddy only need some space and love and how he would never leave Harry like that, because he, Harry was teddy's last piece too.
That Harry was what helped to keep teddy's world together.
Later when Harry still forgot it was teddy and not Remus.
After they got completely sloshed.
After teddy turned into tonks and told him that Remus went to bed.
After tonks turned into Sirius and helped Harry to bed.
After Harry realized just how much it meant to him.
He went to teddy and thanked him.
He told teddy that when ever he need to do this again, he need only leave him a note and Harry would come and help him be who ever he need to be.
Because they were the last pieces of the marauders'.
Because really they were always supposed to be friends and brothers.
